General description:> The term Vehicle Homepage is used as a

generic term for the website used to connect the EV (e.g. smart fortwoelectric drive 3rd Generation) with the user outside the car (remote).This homepage is optimized for mobile devices such smartphones or tablets.

> The Vehicle Homepage includes many EV typical services which the customers can use, such as range management, charging status, charging management, preconditioning. This will aid in overcoming the user’s range or charging anxiety, making electric driving more fun!

Background Information

> What is a Vehicle Verification Code?• A Vehicle Verification Code or VVC is a personal customer code which is needed to use the

personalized electric vehicle services for the vehicle homepage.

> What is a VIP-Tool?• The VIP-Tool is the application to support the handover process of the Vehicle Verification

Code (VVC).

• The VIP-Tool is administered by the responsible persons in the dealer to create VVCs and the related customer information documents. The designated person at the dealership is responsible to access the VIP tool to enter the VIN number and then printout/hand-over info to the customer.

> How Can You Access the VIP-Tool?• MBUSA IT will be given "admin" level in the tool to create new users.

• MBUSA IT will then grant access to the Brand Managers at the smart centers and the application will show as one of their available applications when they log into the aftersales portal (SAI Portal).

• The process suggested is that the dealer's Netstar Administration will send a request to the Netstar Helpdesk to get access to the VIP-Tool.

General description:The VIP-Tool is an application which is programmed especially to support the handover process of the VVC code. This tool will:- allow the dealer to generate the VVC code and

detailed information on how to use it for their customers

- start the 3-year “trial” period in which the customer can use the Vehicle Homepage for free (moment of first VVC creation)

- Display the remaining “trial” time of free Vehicle Homepage usage for the customer

The VIP-Tool is administered by the responsible persons in the Dealer. This will be the smart Brand Manager

How to retrieve a VVC code:The VIP-Tool is separated into 3 steps:

1. Enter the customer’s VIN and Click OK

2. Click “Generate new master VVC”

3. Be sure to provide VVC code and print-out instructions for the customer*Sample print-out provided with this document

How to register the customer for an account on the vehicle homepage:

1. Setup personal account/ accessYou have to setup a personal account at http://vh.smart.com to access the Vehicle Homepage. You will need a valid email address from the customer. You will also need to setup a user name and password for the customer to create the own account.

2. Complete registration via email confirmationAn email will be sent to the customer’s inbox. Please work with the customer on opening the link and assigning a personal password. Confirm the customer’s password by entering twice and click Set password. It is best to do this on a mobile or tablet device. If done on a desktop, please use Chrome.

3. Register and assign vehicle. After registering, the customer will have access to their personal Vehicle Homepage. Now that you have access to the Vehicle Homepage, you must assign your electric drive to your account.

• Step 1: Login• Step 2: Share/ read terms of use, check “Read” and press “Accept”• Step 3: Select USA for Country • Step 4: Enter Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) VIN and personal Vehicle Verification Code (VVC)
