Introduction
The i2-BUS is an intelligent 2 wire door intercom bus system which allows the easy planning and installation of intercom systems. With its diversity of options, the i2-BUS system offers you the optimal solution for the necessities of modern building commu-nication.
Setup of the i2-BUS systemMultiple line i2-BUS system with side entrance
Door stations can be connected to thesecondary lines of multiple line inter-com systems in addition to the inter-coms (a maximum of 6 per secondaryline). The intercoms of the respectivesecondary line can be reached from thesedoorstations. This provides each secon-dary line with its own communicationpath. This allows multiple secondarylines to be used simultaneously. Themaximum possible number of intercomsin the secondary line is limited by thenumber of side entrance door stations.
Single line i2-BUS system
All devices are connected parallel to thebus line (a/b) in single line intercomsystems. The cabling of the bus line cantake place in a series, radial or tree struc-ture with a total length of up to 1,000meters.* (See page 5 for video systems).Up to 10 audio or 8 video door stationscan be connected in a single line inter-com system. The maximum possible num-ber of intercoms is limited by the numberof door stations.
* Please contact our technical hotline forlarger systems or cable lengths: Tel. +49 (0)3671-525 936 Fax +49 (0)3671-525 937 Email: [email protected]
Multiple line i2-BUS system
The system must be realized as a multi-ple line intercom system if the capacity ofa single line intercom system is not suf-ficient. The cabling of the intercomsystem is divided into one primary lineand multiple (minimum 2) secondarylines. All (maximum 10) door stationsand the central control units are con-nected to the primary line. The inter-coms are connected to the secondarylines. Up to 32 intercoms can be opera-ted per secondary line. The connectionbetween primary and secondary linetakes place via the bus coupler, whichconnects the lines during a door call. The length of the primary line and itslongest secondary line can amount to amaximum of 1,000 meters.*

Cablingi2-BUS Video Intercom System
The i2-BUS video intercom system is an audio intercom system supplemented with video components. The joint operation ofaudio and video components is easily realizable.
4 additional cords are required to connect the video components: 2 cords (terminals: V/W) to transfer the video signal and 2 cords (terminals: +/-) to supply power from the central video power supply unit.
Use a twisted pair wire to cable the video signal!
The video signal cabling (terminals: V/W) must be conducted in serial (BUS) structure. It begins with the cabling at the came-ra (and/or video distributor or video switcher) and carries the video signal to the first video intercom, from the first to thesecond, from the second to third, and so on.
The video signal is terminated at the last video intercom by attaching the jumper. This jumper must be pulled out on all priorvideo intercoms!
A video distributor will be required to distribute the video signal for radial cabling. The cabling of the power supply (ter-minals: +/-) can be conducted like the cabling of i2-BUS (terminals: a/b).

Address setup and configuration
The individual i2-BUS devices are differentiated via individual addresses which are determined during the installationwith rotary coding switches. This offers the advantage of a one person initialization of operations without the necessityof comprehensive programming procedures or programming devices. The devices can be used immediately upon settingthe rotary coding switches.

Configuring the door station addressesThe addresses are configured with the red rotary switch on the door speaker for systems with multiple door stations. Theaddresses 0-9 are intended for the door speakers in the primary line may only be assigned once. The adresses 0-9 which areintended by the door speakers in the primary line may only be assigned once.
The addresses A-F are reserved for thedoor speakers in the secondary line (sideentrance). They can be used again in differentsecondary lines. If additional bus com-ponents, like video switches (BVU-100)or automatic lights (BLA-100) are assi-gned to a door station, the red rotaryswitch of these components must be setto the address of the door station.
Parallel operation of multiple intercomsA maximum of 3 intercoms can be operated and assigned to a joint doorbell button using an identical address. As the powerconsumption increases when calling intercoms connected in parallel, note that the maximum permissible cable length (see tableon page 8) decreases to 50% with 2 intercom and to 33% with 3 intercoms.
Intercom addressThe intercom address is composed of a group address (blackrotary switch) and an intercom address (blue rotary switch).16 groups and intercom addresses (switch settings: 0-9, A-F)can be configured; a maximum of 16x16 = 256 intercoms canreceive addresses.
Assignment of the doorbell buttonsA doorbell button is assigned to an intercom via the addressconfiguration and connection to the button expander (BTE-116). A black rotary switch is located on the BTE-116 and usedto set the group addresses (0-9, A-F). The doorbell buttonsare attached to the terminals (0-9, A-F) of the BTE-116 anddetermine the intercom address. The button expanders are cas-cadable (maximum 16). Each button expander receives an indi-vidual group address.
. . . . . . . .
Storey call in parallel operationA call can be forwarded via the i2-BUSto the parallel operated intercom withthe same address. Storey call forwar-ding must be activated on the 1st inter-com with it.

Cable lengths and cross sections
Cable lengthsThe table shows the maximum permissible cable lengths of a continuous cable between individual components of the i2-BUS system. If these cables are lead via terminals, the transfer resistance of the terminal can reduce the maximum cablelength. Take particular note of the video and door opener power supply and of terminals with low transfer resistance!
Recommended cable typeFor a new installation, we recommend using the telecommunication cable type: J Y(ST)Y 4x2x0.8 (twisted pair conductors, shielded)
Maximal cable lengths
* Warning: Never double the pair of cores of the video line; this will lead to image distortions!
Connection to the power supplyNote VDE 0100 (German Association of Electrical, Electronic & Information Technologies) for the connection to the power sup-ply. The supply must take place via a circuit breaker (10-16A).
Note: Only qualified electricians are allowed to setup and install electrical devices!

Description:
The BBS-116 is a central b/w image memory device which can be used a maximum of 16 intercoms. An additional image memory device must be cascaded for more than 16 intercoms. The BBS-116 has a storagecapacity of 256 individual images which can are equally distributed amongst the intercoms.
An image series can also be recorded. The number of individual images is set using theDIP switch. Please note if using an image series, the number of storable events (visitors)is correspondingly reduced.
A radio clock is integrated in the BBS-116 to determine the recording time. The DCF77 time telegram is received via theexternal antenna BBA-110. The time transmitter is in Frankfurt am Main / Germany and has a range of approximately1,500 kilometers. The LED will blink in a second rhythm if the antenna is connected and the time telegram is received.
The telegram will be completely evaluated within about 3 minutes and the time will be synchronized - the LED willnow be lit continuously. The LED will begin to blink in the event of a receiving problem until the clock is resyn-chronized.

of title) remain our property until the fulfillment of all claims due us from the orderer from our business relation-ship.

5. Upon credibly proving an authorized interest, the orderer must provide us with the necessary information for enfor-cing their rights against the customer and provide us withthe required documents. The orderer is authorized to draw
upon the ceded payments from the resale until this is revoked. We are entitled to revoke the orderer’s collection right upon the occurrence of an important reason, especially payment default, cessation of payment, the opening of bankruptcy proceedings (insolvency, arrangement, full enforcement), bill protest or a comparable event which could cause an ability of the orderer to pay. In addition, after a prior warning, we can disclose the security cessions and/or the evaluation of the ceded payments under compli-ance with a reasonable deadline, and request the disclosure of security cessions, the evaluation of the ceded payments as well as the disclosure of the security cessions to the orderer from the customer.

Insofar as the orderer acquires sole ownership of the items, Elcom and the orderer are agreed that the orderer will provide ELCOMwith joint ownership of the new items in relationship to the value of the processed, converted, combined or mixed products at the time of the processing, conversion, combination or mixing. In the event of the reselling of the new items, the orderer hereby cedes to Elcom their claim from the reselling to the customer with all auxiliary rights as a security, without thisrequiring special declaration. The ceding only takes place to the amount of the value of processed, converted, combined or mixed products subject to retention of title determined by us in the invoice. The payment share ceded to us must be satisfied first. There above-mentioned policies apply in terms of the col-lection authorization as well as their preconditions for its revocation.
8. If the products subject to retention of title are combined with property or movable parts, the orderer cedes their claims due for the combination with all auxiliary rights as a security to ELCOM, without this requiring special declarati-on, in the amount of the proportion of the value of the combined products subject to retention of title at thetime of their connection to the other combined products.
9. The orderer must inform us immediately of pawning, seizures or interventions by third parties.
10. In the event of a culpable violation by the order against essential contractual obligations, especially in the event of default of payment, we are entitled to reclaiming after issuing a warning. 3. Claims from the sales contract can generally not be ceded without the written approval of the seller.
4. Additional agreements, supplements or the modification and nullification of this sales contract must be in written form. This also applies to a repeal of the written form regulation.
5. Should individual conditions from these general sales and delivery conditions be wholly or partially unenforceable, the enforceability of the other conditions is not affected by this. The contractual parties obligate themselves in such a case to place an enforceable and implementable condition in place of the unenforceable or non-implementable condi-tion which comes as close as possible to the economic and ideational intentions within the legal limits.
