ESES Con un frente litoral de 23 km., El Campello ofrece una variada y atractiva costa. Las playas del Carrer La Mar, centro turístico del municipio, y Muchavista, de 4 km. unida a la Playa de San Juan, conforman los dos grandes arenales de fina arena dorada, ambas distinguidas con la bandera azul. Hacía el norte, sin embargo, se van sucediendo un sin fin de recoletas calas de aguas transparentes. No debemos olvidar, además, la pionera Playa Can de la “Punta del Riu” que permite el baño a mascotas.

El conjunto de playas y calas, gracias a la calidad de las aguas y de sus servicios, ha sido distinguido con las certificaciones ISO 14.001 de calidad medioambiental, ISO 9.001 por sus servicios y equipamientos, y la ISO 170.000 de “Accesibiliad global” por sus servicios para personas con discapacidad.

Junto a estas playas y calas, El Campello ofrece unas condiciones climatológicas excepcionales durante todo el año que hacen de este enclave un lugar idóneo para la práctica de todo tipo de deportes náuticos: Kayak, vela, remo, Surf, …. Y en especial ofrece a los aficionados al buceo la posibilidad de realizar interesantes rutas bajo la superficie del mar.

ESEN With a coast line of 23 km, El Campello offers a varied and attractive coast. The beaches of Carrer La Mar, tourist centre of the town, and Muchavista, of 4 km. attached to the Playa de San Juan, form the two large beaches of fine golden sand, both distinguished with the Blue Flag. Toward the north, however, are happening endless secluded coves with clear water. Moreover, we must not forget the pioneering Pet Beach of “Punta del Riu” that allows pets.

All those beaches and coves, thanks to the quality of water and its services, hold the ISO 14.001, ISO 9.001 Certifications for the environmental quality, for the quality of its waters the upkeep and cleanliness of its surroundings and for its services and facilities. As well, it has been awarded the ISO 170.000 of “adapted beaches”.

Together with these beaches, El Campello offers an exceptional climate conditions throughout the year that make this enclave an ideal place for doing all kinds of water sports: Kayak, sailing, rowing, Surf, … And especially it offers scuba-diving enthusiasts the possibility of interesting underwater routes.

ESES Extensa playa de fina y dorada arena de más de 3 km., situada junto a la playa de San Juan, distinguida con la Bandera Azul. Es un lugar privilegiado para el baño y la práctica de deportes náuticos, caminar o correr por su paseo peatonal, el cual discurre junto a la línea del moderno Tranvía. Cuenta con un amplio programa de actividades en verano como cine en la playa, eventos deportivos, Biblioplaya y Ludoteca,… lo que, junto a sus infraestructuras, como la “playa accesible”, la convierten en destino para todos los gustos.

RACÓ DE LA ZOFRA (Punto Singularizado)Situado en el extremo noreste, es un hermoso lugar en donde encontramos pequeñas barcas descansando sobre la orilla.

ESEN This extensive and long fine, golden sand beach of more than 3km, next to San Juan beach, wich has received the Blue Flag, is a privileged location for bathing, doing water sports, walking or running along its pedestrian promenade, which runs next to the modern Tram line. In the summer months it offers a complete programme of activities such as cinema, sports, beach library, playroom,… which, together with its facilities, as the “accessible beach” for people with reduced mobility, make it a suitable destination for all tastes.

RACÓ DE LA ZOFRA (Singular Point)Situated in the northeast corner, is a beautiful place where small boats are resting on the edge.

ESES PUNTA DEL RIU. Entre las dos principales playas, la del Carrer la Mar y Muchavista, la desembocadura del Rio Seco forma una extensa playa de cantos rodados y agua critalina que invita al baño y al buceo. Cabe destacar que se ha convertido en una playa pionera en donde el baño para nuestras mascotas es admitido durante todo el año. En esta zona, a finales del siglo XIX, se construyó el primer astillero, germen de una importante industria pesquera cuyos vestigios perviven en la Cofradía de Pescadores en donde todas las tardes, de lunes a viernes, se celebra la subasta al público.

ESEN PUNTA DEL RIU. Among the main beaches, this of Carrer la Mar and Muchavista, we find the mouth of the “Rio Seco” (Seco River) that forms an extensive beach of stones and clear waters that invites to the bath and diving. Notably, it has become a pioneer beach where bathing our pets are admitted throughout the year.In this area, in the late 19th Century, the first shipyard was built. It was the germ of an important fishing industry whose memory still stands thanks to the fishermen brotherhood where, every afternoon from Monday to Friday, the fishing auction is celebrated to the public.

ESES Extensa playa, distinguida con la Bandera Azul, de casi 2 km., de fina y dorada arena, a lo largo de la cual discurre el Paseo Marítimo peatonal. Con multitud de restaurantes, heladerías y comercios, constituye hoy el centro turístico del municipio. En verano se ofrecen multitud de actividades como Biblioplaya, animación infantil,… que junto con las “Fiestas de la Virgen del Carmen”, el 16 de julio, en honor a la virgen de los marineros, conforman una perfecta oferta vacacional.

PLAYA DEL TAJO (Punto Singularizado)Cuenta con una de las partes del conjunto escultórico “Monumento al Pescador” obra de Arcadi Blasco de 1990, que simboliza la unión de los campelleros con el Mar.

ESEN Extensive beach, distinguished with the Blue Flag, hardly 2km long, of fine and golden sand, along the length of its shoreline runs the El Campello Promenade. With multitude of restaurants, ice-cream parlours and businesses, is today the tourist centre of the town. Summer time offers all kinds of activities: Beach Library, children’s entertainment,...what, together with “Virgin of Carmen Festivities”, the 16th of July, in honor of the Virgin of the sailors, make a perfect holiday experience.

PLAYA DEL TAJO (Singular Point)It has of one of the parts of the sculpture known as “Monument al pescador” by Arcadi Blasco in 1990, that symbolizes the union of the sea with the people of El Campello.

ESES PLAYA DE L’ALMADRAVA. Esta playa semiurbana de 600 m de longitud, de arena y grava, está enclavada cerca del Yacimiento Arqueológico de la Illeta dels Banyets. Se accede a ella desde un hermoso paseo que bordea el litoral, La Voramar de les Escultures, obra de Vicente Ferrero.

ESEN L’ALMADRAVA BEACH. This semi-urban beach 600 m length, of sand and pebbles, is located by the Archaeological Site of “La Illeta dels Banyets”. It can be reached by a beautiful walk along the coast, the “Voramar de les Escultures” with sculptures by Vicente Ferrero.

ESES LA ILLETA DELS BANYETS. Zona de baño alrededor del Yacimiento Arqueológico de la Illeta dels Banyets, que conforma un enclave perfecto para el buceo con la ruta de Snorkel “Los Baños de la Reina”.

LA BASSA DE LA REINA (Punto singularizado) Esta plataforma rocosa está rodeada de una bonita leyenda que cuenta que eran los baños de una Reina Mora, sin embargo se trata de antiguas piscifactorías de época romana.

ESEN LA ILLETA DELS BANYETS. All the swimming area located around the Arqueological Site of “La Illeta dels Banyets”, wich is a perfect place for diving with as the Snorkel Route “Los Baños de la Reina”.

LA BASSA DE LA REINA (Singular point)It is a rocky platform who is surrounded of a beautiful legend that tells it was a swimming pool for a Muslim Queen, however, it is a Roman fish farms.

ESES CALA DEL LLOP MARÍ. Esta pequeña cala rocosa es muy atractiva para la práctica del buceo por su rica fauna, flora y geología.

LA COVA DEL LLOP MARÍ (Punto singularizado) Es una plataforma rocosa con una cueva ideal para los amantes del buceo y de las leyendas, pues cuentan que a través de la “Cueva” los piratas guardaban sus tesoros en la montaña del Cabeçó d´Or.

ESES CALA DEL MORRO BLANC. También llamada “Coveta Fumà” es una cala de arena gruesa que posee poca profundidad y ofrece unas magníficas condiciones para pasar un día en familia y es perfecta para la práctica del buceo.

ESEN MORRO BLANC COVE. Also known as “Coveta Fumà” is a cove of coarse sand not very shallow that offers wonderful conditions for spending a day in family and it is a perfect place for diving.

ESES CALA NOSTRA. La Cala Nostra (Nuestra Cala) es una pequeña cala recóndita de arena y piedras, apenas transitada. También conocida por los lugareños como “Cala Lleida”, pues está situada a la altura de la calle con dicho nombre.

ESEN CALA NOSTRA. Cala Nostra (Our Cove) is a small and hidden creek of sand and stones, not very busy. Also this creek is known as “Cala Lleida” because it is located near the “Lleida St.”

ESES CALA D’ENMIG. Recóndita cala de arena gruesa flanqueada por dos acantilados que ayudan a crear una atmósfera de intimidad y sosiego. Situada en una zona poco urbanizada, es fácilmente accesible en automóvil y con el tram El Campello-Benidorm.

ESEN D’ENMIG COVE. D’Enmig Cove is a remote, coarse sand cove surrounded by two cliffs which help to create an intimate and peaceful atmosphere. Located in an area which is not very developed, it is easily accessible both by car and the Alicante – Benidorm Tram.

ESES PLAYA BARRANC D’AIGÜES. Cerca del paisaje natural protegido de gran belleza, La Lloma de Reixes, a los pies de la Torre Vigía del mismo nombre y protegida por un pequeño acantilado, se encuentra esta playa natural, prácticamente virgen, de cantos rodados y grava que ofrece una imagen bucólica de nuestra costa.

ESEN BARRANC D’AIGÜES BEACH. Close to the natural park of great beauty, La Lloma of Reixes, at the foot of the watchtower of the same name and protected by a small cliff, this natural, almost untouched beach, of of stones and gravel offers a bucolic image of our coast.

cala lanuzaESES CALA LANUZA. Cala de fina arena dorada situada junto al Cala Baeza. De aguas tranquilas, es muy apreciada por familias con niños para el baño en época estival.

ESEN LANUZA COVE. Lanuza Cove is a fine, golden sand creek situated next to “Cala Baeza”. Its calm water is much appreciated by families with children for swimming during the summer months.

ESES CALA BAEZA. Ésta, anteriormente conocida como “Cala La Merced” ó “El Portet de la Merced”, es una pequeña cala de grava y aguas cristalinas. Posee un pequeño puerto que contribuye a darle un aire rústico y tradicional.

ESEN BAEZA COVE. Before, this creek was known as “Cala la Merced” or “El Portet de la Merced”. It is a small cove of stone and crystalline water , this place has a traditional air thanks to its endearing port.

playa del carritxalESES PLAYA DEL CARRITXAL. Compartida con La Vila Joiosa, se trata de una cala de arena gruesa y grava de gran valor medioambiental.

ESEN CARRITXAL BEACH. El Campello shares this cove with La Vila Joiosa. It is a coarse sand and gravel creek of a great environmental value.

ESES CALA DE LES PALMERETES. Esta Pequeña cala natural de piedras y grava de aguas cristalinas es perfecta para el baño, el buceo y/o la pesca. Es conocida con ese nombre debido a las palmeras que encontramos a la entrada de dicha cala.

ESEN LES PALMERETES COVE. This small natural creek of stones and gravel with crystal water is a perfect place for bathing, diving and/or fishing. It is known with this name due to its palm trees that grow in the entry of the creek.

ESES Tras el Club Náutico, a los pies de la Torre de la Illeta, “La Illeta dels Banyets” forma un pequeño istmo que, además, constituye un importante Yacimiento arqueológico.

Podemos iniciar la inmersión, con equipo ligero (esnórquel), desde la pequeña playa al sur. Primero encontramos un fondo de arena poco profundo que alberga moluscos y peces camuflados como el mabre o el salmonete. Más adelante, nos encontraremos con fondos rocosos tapizados de algas que esconden ejemplares de erizos, tordos, sargos y mojarrras. A medida que nos separamos de la pared aumenta la profundidad y veremos una pradera de Posidonia Oceanica, una planta marina vital endémica del Mediterráneo. Solo los más aventajados, teniendo mucha precaución y respeto, se podrán adentrar en las piscifactorías romanas de la punta del islote que se comunican entre sí a 5 mts. de profundidad.

RUTA AUDIOGUIADA:Desde mayo a octubre, esta ruta está marcada por una serie de boyas. En la oficina de turismo se podrán recoger las audiguías sumergibles.

ESEN After the Marina, at the foot of the watchtower, “La Illeta dels Banyets” forms a small isthmus which also is an important archaeological site.

We can begin the dive, with light equipment (snorquel), from the small beach to the south. We’ll find first a sandy shallow housing molluscs and fish camouflaged as sand steenbras or red mullet. Further on, we also find a rocky bottom upholstered with algal where hide specimens like sea urchins, blackbirds, white seabreams and two-banded seabreams. As we separated from the wall of the island the depth increases and we’ll see a meadow of Posidonia Oceanica, a vital Mediterranean endemic marine plant. Only the most advantaged divers, taking extreme care and respect, will delve into the Roman fish farms at the top of the island that communicate each other at 5 mts. deep.

AUDIO-GUIDED ROUTE:From May to October, this route is marked by a series of buoys. At the Tourist Office, the submersible audio-guides can be collected.

ESES Con este nombre se conoce entre los buceadores de la zona a la gran barrera rocosa que, con origen frente al cabo de las Huertas, transcurre casi paralela al litoral de El Campello. Así, dada la kilométrica extensión del Caballón serán posibles varias inmersiones.

En cualquier caso, característica común será un fondo blando con abundante Posidonia Oceanica sobre el que se yergue una barra rocosa de una altura de unos 4 ó 5mts en los puntos más altos, de modo que en esta inmersión podremos variar de cota entre los -19 y los -25mts. Entre sus huecos podremos encontrar morenas, congrios y pulpos, corvinas y otros peces.

La amplia llanura tapizada de Posidonia Oceanica ofrece la posibilidad de ver grandes nacras, el bivalvo más grande del Mediterráneo que, plantado en el fondo, se erige vertical entre la Posidonia. Tampoco será extraño el encuentro de rayas y peces rata tan propios de fondos blandos como éste.

En definitiva una variada y sencilla inmersión que no requiere de gran nivel de experiencia dependiendo de la profundidad.

el caballónESEN Divers give this name to a rocky barrier that runs almost parallel to the coastline of El Campello. From el Cabo de las Huertas, several dives are possible depending on the chosen starting point, because of its kilometer-long ridge extending.

In any case, the common feature is a soft bottom with plenty Posidonia Oceanica on a rocky bar to a height of about 4 or 5m at the highest point, so in this dive can vary in height between 19 the -25mts. Its hollow we find morays, eels and octopus, sea bass and other fish.

In turn, the wide plain draped of Posidonia Oceanica offers the possibility of seeing big small crabs, the biggest bivalve of the Mediterranean that, planted on the bottom, is raised vertically between the Posidonia. Neither will be strange to meet rays and rate fish.

Definitively, an entertaining and simple dip that does not need a great level of experience, just depending on the depth.

la cova del llop maríESES Primero encontraremos un fondo duro, aunque a poco que nos separemos del litoral hará su aparición una verde pradera de Posidonia Oceanica, que alberga multitud de especies, peces como las salpas hasta cefalópodos como la sepia.

Más allá de la pradera, el fondo, de unos 5 mts, se presenta arenoso. Por ello, lo recomendable es ir recorriendo el perfil del litoral, algo separados de él, hasta llegar a la cueva, en donde la tradición cuenta que vivían focas monje “lobos de mar”. Si la mar no está agitada, podremos entrar en ella unos 20 metros hasta llegar a una pequeña playa en su interior. Al salir, seguiremos avanzando en el sentido que traíamos; ahora la pared se introduce en el mar unos 25 mts como una plataforma sumergida tapizada de algas pardas a muy poca profundidad, para luego caer hasta los 3,5mts de profundidad. Entre las grietas del fondo encontraremos pequeños peces como el blenio y el gobio, y cerca de las rocas podemos ver serranos, cabrillas y mojarras. Al llegar a la punta podemos invertir el recorrido para esta vez ir más pegados a la línea litoral, donde la menor profundidad nos permitirá incluso descansar poniéndonos de pie.

Beyond the meadow, there’s a sandy bottom at a depth around 5mts. Therefore, it is advisable to go touring the coastal profile, a little separate from it, until reaching the cave, where the tradition tells that “monk seals” lived. If the sea is not stirred, we can get into the cave about 20 meters till a small beach inside. Leaving it, we’ll continue the same direction, now the wall gets into the sea about 25 mts like a very shallow submerged platform plenty of brown algae, and then it drops to 3,5mts deep. Between the cracks of the seabed we’ll find some small fishes such as blennies and gudgeons, and near the rocks we see steenbras, whitecaps and sunfish. Reaching the extreme, we could reverse our way and go now attached to the shoreline, where the shallow allows us to relax and putting up.

arrecife artificialESES En el litoral de El Campello, frente a la zona que transcurre desde el resort turístico “Pueblo Acantilado Suites” hasta la playa de “Lloma de Reixes”, encontramos un buen número de bloques de hormigón que se sumergieron para crear un arrecife artificial y que, de hecho, se extiende a lo largo de 7km. Dicho arrecife sirve de refugio a muchas especies como el serrano, los sargos, mojarras ..., que a su vez atraen a otras especies por la posibilidad de caza.

Estos bloques de hormigón, a una profundidad entre 14 y 17 mts, también sirven para regenerar la pradera de Posidonia Oceanica, que se ve protegida de la acción erosiva de la pesca de arrastre y con ello mejora a su vez la biodiversidad permitiendo encuentros inesperados con la raya o el pez rata. Además, muy cerca de los arrecifes yacen los restos de una pequeña embarcación de pesca, llena de vida marina que contribuye a hacer todavía más interesante esta atractiva inmersión.

artificial reefESEN On the coast of El Campello, this one that runs from the tourist resort “Pueblo Acantilado Suites” to “Lloma of Reixes” beach, there’s a large number of submerged concrete blocks which create an artificial reef that, in fact, extends along 7km. This reef has become a refuge for many species such as steenbras, bream, sunfish, etc. Those ones, in turn, attract themselves other species as hunting.

These concrete blocks, at a depth between 14 and 17 metres, also serve to regenerate the field of Posidonia Oceanica, which is been protected from the erosive action of trawling. As well, it enhances the biodiversity and, besides, allows us to get unexpected encounters with species as the ray or the rat fish. Very close to the reef, on the seabed the remains of a small fishing boat lays full of marine life and helps to make this attractive dive even more interesting.

venta lanuzaESES Esta acogedora cala es especialmente adecuada para el snorquel. Una vez en ella nos dirigiremos andando al extremo izquierdo y desde allí podemos entrar al agua, donde encontraremos un blanquísimo arenal que a medida que avanzamos va mudando en un fondo de rocas salpicado con áreas de verdísima Posidonia Oceanica.

Podemos avanzar paralelos a la costa para disfrutar de la transparencia de estas aguas que nos permitirán contemplar la abundante biodiversidad de peces. El fondo no es muy profundo, pero en tramos del recorrido surgirán grandes plataformas rocosas, que desde 4mts de profundidad ascienden casi a la superficie. Estas rocas, cubiertas de coloridas algas y abundante Posidonia Oceanica, procurando cobijo a muchas especies como el pulpo, ...

Más adelante, superada la losa de roca, el fondo vuelve a presentarse arenoso y, de nuevo, frente a un saliente del litoral aparecen grandes rocas sumergidas, entre 1 y 3mts, cambiando el paisaje y ofreciéndonos la visión de la vida propia de los fondos duros.

venta lanuzaESEN This nice cove is especially suitable for snorkelling. Once there, we’ll head to the left end and will be able to enter in the sea. First, we’ll find very white sand that, litlle by little, will transform on a rock bottom splashed withareas of the very green Posidonia Oceanica.

We’ll move parallel to the coast to enjoy the transparency of these waters that allow us to see the rich biodiversity of fishes. The seabed is not very deep, but from time to time, some big rocky platforms will emerge from 4mts almost to the surface. These rocks, covered with colourful algae and Posidonia, seek shelter for many species such as octopus,...

Further on, after the rocky platform, the seabed will become sandy and again, in front of a projection of the coast, it will appear some large submerged rocks between 1 and 3m, that will change the landscape and offers a view of the life of the rocky seabed.
