Welcome to the EIP-AGRI Seminar We invite you to join the online EIP-AGRI event, get access to all background information, connect with other participants, and contribute with your comments and ideas, both through:

• the EIP-AGRI virtual event platform (laptop or desktop) • the EIP-AGRI event app (tablet or smartphone)

If you have not used the EIP-AGRI virtual platform before, we encourage you to join one of the pre-event networking sessions on Monday 12 April, or to arrive at least 15 minutes before the start of the

seminar on 13 April, to ensure that you can log in. See section ‘Any problems?’ below for more information.

This is the link that you can use to follow the meeting through the EIP-AGRI virtual event platform. This link will give you access to the entire platform, all the meeting sessions and all background information.

Join the virtual event platform:

• before, during and after the seminar, to explore the platform, programme, speakers, to contact other participants, and more.

• during the seminar to join the online event

IMPORTANT

! This link only works for you as a registered participant. ! This link only works with the email address you registered with.

! The platform works best in a Google Chrome browser. Microsoft Edge also works, if you are using

the most recent version. Mozilla Firefox is not compatible with the virtual platform.

Log in to the EIP-AGRI virtual event platform

To log in to the platform, please follow these steps:

1. Click on the link that you have received. You will need to provide your email address.

! It is important that you use the email address you registered with.

2. Provide your password: a. If you do not have an account yet, you will automatically be asked to create one.

Type in your email address and a password. Press ‘Create account’. You will receive a verification email in your inbox. If you do not receive the email, please check your spam or clutter folder.

Confirm your email address and return to the EIP-AGRI events login screen. Then complete your profile, and ‘save’.

b. Forgotten your password? Then you can easily choose a new one.

3. You are now logged in to the EIP-AGRI virtual event platform. There you will see the general event dashboard, called the ‘Town Hall’.

Feel free to already start exploring the platform, even before the event!

Join the seminar

In the Town Hall (main dashboard) you will get an overview of all the event information available on the platform. Through the menu bar on the left, you can navigate through the different platform sections.

On Tuesday 13 April 2021, from 8.30 am onwards, go to Rooms on the left menu bar, and then Plenary room and click on “Join here” to join the seminar:

• Zoom is integrated in the virtual platform. You do not need a separate Zoom account to join the seminar. • You will only be able to join the seminar after the host has started the event.

The seminar will begin in the Plenary room, where you can also find the full programme. Throughout the

event, the facilitator will tell you when to move to the other rooms, which you can also access through Rooms on the left menu bar.

During the meeting, you will be asked to share your comments or ideas in the session chat. The moderation team will follow up on questions asked, to take them to plenary.

Some tips and tricks:

• Browser: The platform works best in a Google Chrome browser. Microsoft Edge also works, if you are using

the most recent version. Mozilla Firefox is not compatible with the virtual platform.

• Audio/video: If you notice that you are not able to add any audio or video, it may help to go to the top

menu bar in your browser, where you can see and select ‘allow video / allow audio’ next to the url.

• Getting back to the meeting: ! If you are in one of the sessions and you decide to browse the other sections of the platform (e.g.

participants, programme, seminar feed,…) you will automatically leave the session. However, you can easily join the meeting again by going back to the relevant session in the programme.

IMPORTANT • Going from one room to another:

When you leave one room, it is important to press the ‘leave meeting’ button before you go to

another room.

• View:

o Increase the screen I: You can increase the session screen by clicking on “Hide list” left below the virtual meeting

o Increase the screen II: To make the session screen even bigger, you can click on “View” at the top right and select “Full screen”. You may need to move away from this to see the chat and polls

on the right. o Gallery view: At “View”, you can also switch to gallery view to see other participants

Networking opportunities

To maximise your networking opportunities, the Seminar feed and Participants list are immediately shown on the main screen. They can also be reached through the icons in the left menu bar.

Seminar feed Engage with other participants by posting a comment or sharing a photo through the seminar feed. You can also like or comment on posts from other participants.

Connect with other participants The ‘Participants’ list gives you an overview of all the participants who have registered to the event. You can see someone’s details by clicking on their name. You can also get a conversation started by sending them a private message.

You can follow your conversations in the ‘Messages’ section (top bar), and can see notifications of messages,

likes and more right next to it. You can easily maintain conversations while following the seminar sessions (without leaving the session).

Explore the virtual event platform

Further down the left-side menu bar, you will find:

• information about the Speakers

• interesting reading.

Join the event through the EIP-AGRI event app The same information that is available on the virtual event platform (for laptop or desktop) is also available through the EIP-AGRI event app (for smartphone).

To install the EIP-AGRI event app and create your personal profile, please follow the steps below:

STEP 1

• Take your mobile phone

• Download the ‘EIP-AGRI events’ app on your mobile phone from the App store (if you have an iPhone) or from the Play Store (for Android smartphones)

STEP 2: Once the’ EIP-AGRI events’ app is downloaded:

• Open the EIP-AGRI event app. The first time you open the app, you will need to create your own EIP-AGRI event account, using

the email address you used to register for the event. Please note that if you have attended a previous

EIP-AGRI event using another app, you will need to create a new account on the EIP-AGRI events app. Once this is done, you can use this account for all future EIP-AGRI events.

STEP 3: After having created your account, you should receive an email in your inbox. If you didn’t,

please check your spam folder. Use this email to confirm your email address.

STEP 4: Open the app, and log in with your newly created account.

STEP 5: In the EIP-AGRI events app, you may see the workshop already, if not, in the “Search Events”

bar, type “EIP-AGRI Seminar ‘Healthy soils for Europe’”.

STEP 6: Click on the event

STEP 7: Start exploring

Any problems?

Pre-event networking session

On Monday 12 April, there will be 2 pre-event networking sessions from 9:30-10:30 and 16:00-17:00 (CET), for

those of you who wish to meet the participants informally and test their connection, camera, audio, and access to the virtual event platform or event app. During this session, colleagues from the EIP-AGRI Service Point will

be available to assist you with any technical issues. You can log into this session through the event app or the

virtual event platform. For the virtual platform, the link to this troubleshooting session is the same as for the seminar:

We also please ask you to arrive well in advance of the start of the seminar. This will give you time to resolve

any technical issues that you may still experience on the day of the event.

During the event

System requirements

• An internet connection – broadband wired or wireless (3G or 4G/LTE). We recommend a bandwidth of 1.5Mbps/1.5Mbps (up/down).

• Speakers and a microphone – Headphones are preferable to avoid audio feedback and echo. • A webcam or HD webcam - built-in or USB plug-in • Most recent operating systems are supported (in Windows, MacOs and Linux). Supported browsers:

Frequently Asked Questions

What can I do if this is my first EIP-AGRI event?

We recommend that you read the technical manual, and we encourage you to join us on Monday 12 April for one of the two pre-event networking sessions, to network and explore the platform.

How do I join the event from my laptop/desktop?

You can find the link to the EIP-AGRI virtual platform in the welcome email. You can only log in to the platform

with the email address you registered with. It is best to open the app in Chrome or in the most recent version of Microsoft Edge. Avoid using Mozilla Firefox, as the platform does not work properly in this browser.

Can I access the platform from my phone/tablet?

Yes, you can join us from your smartphone or tablet. Download the EIP-AGRI events app in the App Store or

Google Play and follow the steps from the technical manual.

How can I activate my webcam and audio?

After choosing which room you want to join, you can click ‘hide list’ (top left icon) or use full screen (top

right icon) to have a better view of the meeting. Once you have done this, you can join your audio and

webcam. Please note that every time you switch rooms or go into blind date sessions or breakout rooms, you

will need to activate your webcam and audio again. The first time you join the EIP-AGRI virtual platform, there is a possibility that you may need to enable your

webcam and audio by granting the browser permission.
