EIFS, Identification of Common Installation Deficiencies and What to Report Wednesday, 1/27, 2:00 – 4:00 pm Advanced Learning Track To identify and inspect EIFS, also called synthetic stucco, you need to understand how it is to be correctly installed with emphasis on the details of the attachments, penetrations and terminations. In this course you will learn the difference between synthetic stucco and real stucco and how each is to be installed. You will learn the problems found with synthetic stucco and how to identify them. We will show you an inspection procedure and checklist for inspecting EFIS. And we will cover how to report your findings. Scott Patterson, ACI has owned and operated a full service property inspection and consulting firm since 1995 and holds home inspector licenses in Tennessee and Mississippi. Since 1995 he has inspected over 8,000 single-family homes and 1500+ EIFS clad homes and buildings. His primary business is centered on residential and light commercial building inspections. Scott was one of the first home inspectors to be trained in EIFS and moisture inspections through The Exterior Design Institute (EDI). In addition to inspections Scott offers expert litigation support on legal matters involving EIFS, residential construction issues and home inspections. Scott is an approved continuing education instructor in TN and is an instructor for the ASHI School. Scott is very active in the home inspection profession; he has served on the Board of Directors for The Examination Board of Home Inspectors for six years. He has served and chaired numerous National ASHI committees; he has served on the ASHI Board of Directors and is currently serving as the ASHI Secretary for 2016.
