A New Focus for

Walkthrough

Look 2 Learning walks provide

campus data about student learning

so teachers can determine what

Traditionally, when we visit classrooms we stay in the back of the room.

the focus is on…

Research-based

practices

Gathering data

Finding patterns

Reflection

Learning

and not…

Compliance with

policies

Making judgments

Individuals

Evaluation

Brief, frequent classroom visits

can provide valuable data

to initiate reflection, guide

instruction, and improve learning.

2-4 minutes every 2 weeks

We have a system for that.

Walks are not “observations.”
