Undergraduate provisionfor Social Sciences
We aim to provide you with a stimulating and challenging educationalexperience in the course of the next three years where you will have theopportunity of developing your full potential.
You will be part of a vibrant and friendly community supported by adynamic and enthusiastic staff team who are all approachable and readyto advise you. You will be encouraged to participate in the academic andsocial life of the Department.
You will have plenty of opportunities to enjoy student life by engagingwith various extra-curricula activities or by participating in educationalvisits to institutions that relate to your studies.
This week is devoted to inducting you to the culture and expectationsof academic life. We shall focus on introducing you to your chosenprogrammeof study, the teaching staff in theDepartment and your personaltutor. You will be introduced to University facilities and resources suchas the library and Blackboard, which will be important in supporting yourlearning. We shall be distributing various handbooks and administrativeinformation which will help guide you through your studies.
We hope that by the end of this week you will be familiar withmost of ourprocedures and our teaching and learning approaches so that whenlectures and seminars begin next week youwill get off to an enjoyable start.
