Explore this sprawlingand spectacular place where discoveries are still being made.Tutankhamun’s final resting place is also located here, and you’llhave free time tovisit it.Yourguidewillexplain the funerary ritesoftheancientEgyptiansandsignificanceofthemanypaintingsandhieroglyphics. You will visit three royal tombs and then continueto the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, set in a spectacular naturalamphitheatre. Visit the valley of the queens. Day 15 - Wednesday 15th April 2020 AMMAN (B,L,D)Today you will leave Amman for a short drive north(approximately1hour)toJerash,onceoneofthegrandestancientRomancities intheworld.ThesearesomeofthebestGreco-Romanruinsaround.Reaching itszenithasafavouriteoftheemperorHadrian,ithasastrikingcollectionof archways and theatres, baths, public buildings andcolonnaded streets, and is a beautiful place to spend amorningexploring.Grandioniccolumnsencirclethecity’scentrepiece, the Oval Plaza, a wonderfully atmosphericplace to linger after exploring Jerash’s riches. You betterhavepackedyourswimgear,becauseintheafternoonyoucanwashoffthedustfromexploringruinswithadiplikenoother.Driveapproximately1.5hourstospendtheafternoonontheshoresoftheDeadSea.Namedforthescarcityoflifeinitswaters,thislakeissointenselysaltythatthedensityofthewatermakesswimmingandgettingunderneaththesurface verydifficult.
