Mission

The mission of Egypt Elementary is to prepare all students to reach proficiency or higher; and to develop critical thinkers who are able to read with understanding, writer with purpose, and speak with clarity. By integrating content area studies with literacy, young readers grow into effective problem solvers. By differentiating instruction to meet individual needs, we are empowering students to become productive, knowledgeable citizens who are capable of making responsible choices throughout their lives.

Teach the Rules, Expectations and Procedures

Each family receives a Parent/Student Handbook. Rules and procedures are posted throughout the building.During the first two weeks of school, all rules, procedures,

and expected behaviors are modeled and practiced throughout the school.

Re-teaching will take place throughout the year as needed.

School Procedures

Office referrals • Before sending a student to the office with a referral for levels 1, 2,

and 3, teachers must:• -Conference with student• -Contact the parent • -Team meeting with the parent• -Refer the student to guidance or S-team as appropriate

A teacher will send the student to the office with a completed referral form, attaching any other necessary paperwork, including intervention forms. 

Common sense prevails, and for certain offenses (fighting and extreme outbursts) immediate office intervention is appropriate.

School ProceduresEntering School • Students arriving at 7:45am will line up and are seated according to grade level in the

cafeteria. They will remain seated until dismissed at 7:50am and escorted to their classroom.

• Bus riders enter the building through the side door and go directly to the cafeteria.  

Closing of school • At dismissal, groups of students are escorted, by assigned teachers to the bus area,

daycare, and the cafeteria.• Students that wait for car pickup are seated according to grade-level and are called

by name to the car. 

Hall passes • After 8:30, every student in the hallway without a teacher must have a hall pass. 

Unnecessary items • Only items necessary for classroom instruction should be brought to school, unless

the teacher gives permission 

Passing classes• Each grade level determines means by which they will prepare to pass classes at

designated time.

Communication with Parents and Communities

• Parents will sign up for daily Class Dojo reports to view at their convenience 

• Teachers can communicate with parents through Class Dojo regarding academic progress or behavior

Parental Involvement

Parent involvement is a vital component of the PBIS Plan. There are many opportunities to share our plan with parents - and for parents to get the training and information they need to fully understand the direction of the school to improve behavior.
