Effect 3New Ideas and Inventions are spread from Middle East to Europe

Europe suffered a loss of knowledge, culture, and education for centuries after the Fall of the Roman Empire.

Contact with Muslim culture re-introduced ideas about science, math, learning and culture to Europe.

The Popes ordered and supported each of the Crusades over 200 years and they were all unsuccessful.

People begin to doubt in the Pope actually “speaks” for God.
