No Significant Difference
1998 - Wisher, R.A., & Priest, A.N.Cost-effectiveness of Audio Teletraining for the
US Army National Guard The American Journal of Distance Education,
“The results”
It appeared that students learned more quickly in the distance learning, in a course of fixed length for three weeks, where there was much time to retraining and retesting students,There was equal effectiveness between groups at the end . This analysis supports many reports that did before a period of time which distance learning group performed as well, if not better than, a resident control group.
Significant Difference - Better Results with Technology
2000 - Redding, T. R.A Comparative Analysis of SDL
Online Learning with Traditional Classroom Learning Open Learning
Focus, March 2000
“The results”
“Compared the results between online group and normal group in classroom. The online group typically achieved the highest GPA mean in each topic, and the highest cumulative GPA Average mean. The SD and Variance for this group indicate a consistent high quality learning of content. The online group is the most successful at cognitive learning as measured by the end of course examinations."
