Evolved by leaps and bound in last century. Telephones, Mobile phones, Internet, World Wide Web etc

appeared, providing numerouns new means ofcommunication.

These ways had an impact on every sphere of human life.

Due to CT, Education became more Inclusive – reached tomore number of people.

Children at remote places being provided access toKnowledge using tools like Virtual Classrooms, Videotutorials, Interactive websites etc.

Research Scholars can share their work, using internet andcan access online libraries.

E-books serve as an alternate for paper books.

Future Prespective

Govt planning broadband connectivity to villages to provideinternet to all. This will ensure more means of quality education forthose living in remote villages.

3rd and 4th generation mobile technologies will ensures betterconnectivity and features like video calling, which will furtherenhance the reach of virtual interactive classrooms.

CT have changed the ways in which medicine is practised andtaught.

Web-Based diagnostics and telemedicine are some of the majorrecent breakthroughs.

Doctors can diagnose and even treat a patient at some remoteplace using communication infrastructure and supportingrobotics.

Communication technology also helps in maintaining patientrecords and reporting cases of outbreaks like Ebola, H1N1 etc.swiftly.

Research work is also being accelerated using communicationtechnology in the medical field.

Future

Scientist are researching to create implants which can connect tothe communication network and can provide monitoring facilitiesto doctors who are even miles away from their patients.

Robotic surgery is also being explored as an option and doctors arebeing trained to perform the same.

Expert Based Knowledge Systems will help in better understandingand treatment of diseases.

ICT helps in promotion of new agricltural technoligies, processand seeds which results in better yield.

Experts can communicate to farmers and farmers can connect toscientists to solve problems related to crops.

These technologies will also help to make agricultue moresustainable.

Future Scope Govt. agencies developing mobile apps to provide all necessary

information to farmer (m-krishi).

Products can be promoted on social media, websites or throughradios , T.V. etc.

Plants can be monitored remotely to improve quality and toensure that all processes adhere to quality standards.

Inventory management and Better demand supply network canbe maintained to ensure minimum wastage, specially in case ofFMCG products.

Future New emerging sensor technologies like Internet of Things make

monitoring even more efficient.

Communication technologies like mobiles, internet , T.V. , radiosetc provides better ways of advertising products.

Customers can even provide feedback which producers can use toenhance quality and thus boost sales.

E-commerce websites like Flipkart , amazon etc are providingcustomers with better products at their doorstep and alsoretailers can now showcase their products directly on the web.

Future As more no of people will be connected to internet, area of influence for

e-commerce will also increase, resulting in more no of customers forsellers and better options for buyers.
