March Highlights Increased volunteer base, including participants from almost all Shenzhen schools International online recognition and interest Children demonstrated improvement in motor skills and action-based activities Evidence of recall and independent language production Like most new volunteers to Reach, I entered with a bit of apprehension. Never having worked with children with disabilities before, I didn't really know what to expect. What followed were feelings of relief, excitement, and awe. I was relieved that the children were active and engaged throughout the lesson; excited that they really seemed interested in learning and were able to grasp the basic vocabulary; and in awe that despite their challenges, they were happy and fun-loving. It sounds corny, but experiences like this can humble us so much and make us realize how many challenges so many people, especially children, face everyday. I recommend everyone to join Reach even just one time. Maybe you'll find that it is a great experience, or maybe you'll find that it is much more difficult than you imagined; but either way, you will come out of it with different perspective than what you went in with and that can be a great way to learn more about yourself, while helping these kids at the same time. z EF Reach in Motion z March provided us with an opportunity to reach out three times - including volunteers from various departments and schools. We are fortunate to continue to have a growing volunteer base, and many leads for future expansion of the program. The children at Min’Ai continue to welcome us with enthusiasm and are demonstrating greater language comprehension. March Highlights

• Increased volunteer base, including participants from almost all Shenzhen schools

• International online recognition and interest

• Children demonstrated improvement in motor skills and action-based activities

• Evidence of recall and independent language production

Like most new volunteers to Reach, I entered with a bit of apprehension. Never having worked with children with disabilities before, I didn't really know what to expect. What followed were feelings of relief, excitement, and awe. I was relieved that the children were active and engaged throughout the lesson; excited that they really seemed interested in learning and were able to grasp the basic vocabulary; and in awe that despite their challenges, they were

happy and fun-loving. It sounds corny, but experiences like this can humble us so much and make us realize how many challenges so many people,

especially children, face everyday. I recommend everyone to join Reach even just one time. Maybe you'll find that it is a great experience, or maybe you'll find that it is much more difficult than you imagined; but either way, you will come out of it with different

perspective than what you went in with and that can be a great way to learn more about yourself, while helping these kids at the same time.
