GAMES VENUES

•Several venues are situated next to the EERR, including the Commonwealth Games Village transport mall. The EERR will provide the Games Family Vehicles with a good transport link to all of these venues.

•The NISA, Velodrome and Celtic Park are also in close proximity to the EERR, allowing enhanced spectator and workforce access to these venues.

•Other services will use the EERR as a through route; making use of the adjacent motorway connectivity.

EERR PHASE 2( Ongoing works carried out by Farrans / I&H Brown )

• Roadworks – A new 4 lane road between Rutherglen Bridge and Biggar Street is being constructed. This includes cycle lanes in both directions and a 5m footway between Dalmarnock Station and Celtic Park. Earthworks and drainage are well advanced and carriageway construction has commenced throughout the route.

• Rutherglen Bridge (refurbishment) – The concrete deck slab is being replaced and services repositioned to allow carriageway widening and deck waterproofing to protect the masonry arch structure below.

• London Road Rail Tunnel and Air Shaft – Piling is completed and the pile caps well underway.

• Camlachie Burn Overflow (CBO) Phase 2 Drainage – the aim of the CBO is to alleviate flooding when high flows occur in Camlachie Burn (by allowing this flooding to be diverted to the river via the CBO). Work is well underway in forming the access shafts and boring the tunnels between the shafts.
