Warren Behrens, Chief Engineer spoketo students on the different careers inbroadcasting and took them through aday in the life of a Broadcast Engineer.

Laurann Robinson, Reporter talked tothe group about a typical day in the lifeof a reporter, education and differentmarkets that she has worked in. Shestressed the importance of staying inschool and staying out of trouble andputting a good representation of yourselfout on social media.

The students were given a tour of thestation and discussed the different jobsavailable at KETV.

Ariel talked to thestudent about the different departmentsand jobs at KETV and the educationneeded to work in those areas. Shetalked about how each area is dependenton each other. They talked about thetechnology we work with. They talkedabout the changing appetite that we haveto meet for people to obtain newsthrough various avenues (i.e.TV,mobile, apps, social media, etc.) Theytalked about the responsibility we holdin protecting the 1st amendment.

The student also attended the news storymeeting and watched a newscast fromthe control room with Ariel so they'd seehow a newscast comes together.

1The first annual Digital ExpressionsMedia Camp is an opportunity forNebraska High School students whomay be interested in a career inCommunications to give them theopportunity to work with professional-level equipment while learning anddeveloping skills in video and audiobroadcasting.
