Benny’s Life Story
Benny Lee Battle was born January 18, 1950 in the local hospital of Marshville, Macon County GA. Benny was the youngest of seven from Effie and Ruth Battle’s children.
After graduating from H.A. Hunt in Fort Valley, Ga with the class of 1968, Benny went on to join the United States Army
where he served for our country. Following his military experience, he attended Fort Valley State College. Leading to his journey at Robins Air Force Base where he served as a
Forklift driver for over 30 years. Benny was blunt, easygoing man who enjoyed luxury cars
and fashion. As his health declined Benny became a resident at the Miona Geriatric & Dementia Center of Ideal,
GA. On April 7, 2020 Benny grabbed the hymn of the Master’s
garment and let Him lead the way. Benny leaves his cherished memories with his fabulous five children, Mr.
Derrick Lockhart Fort Valley, Ga; Mrs. Latarionia B. McGhee (Tommy) Al, Al; Mrs. Crystal Battle, Macon Ga; Mr. Michael
Thomas (Alyssa) WR, GA; Ms. Shannon Thomas Virginia Beach, VA; two bonus daughters Ms. Crystal Thomas Virginia Beach VA; and Mrs. Dianne Perry (Irada). Six grandchildren
and 3 great-grandchildren. A loving brother Mr. John Wesley Battle, Richmond Heights, Fl, and loving devoted sister Mrs.
Martha Postell (Castella) Miami, Fl; a loving bonus sister Patricia Prime (Edwin) Byron, Ga. A devoted niece Mrs. Carol
Mathews (Willie). A devoted cousin Mr. Charles McGhee. His loving second family at the Miona Nursing Home Idea, GA. A host of nieces and nephews and other relatives, and
friends.
