Edward T. Boyle
Center
Boyle Senior Center, Inc., invites all senior citizens of Cayuga County to participate in its recreational, educational, cultural, and community service programs.
We serve as an information center to answer your concerns and needs.
May is a busy and exciting time of year with Spring in the air, Mother’s Day, Memorial Day and Older American’s Month –just look at our calendar!
Older American’s Month was first celebrated in May of 1963 and continues to take place each May in the community. There will be many activities taking place but be sure to sign up for one, or both of the luncheons available. Senior Citizen Day will be celebrated on May 16th at 12:15pm at Auburn High School and with the Cayuga County Legislatures at Emerson Park on May 28th at 12pm.
Program Director, Robin Debenedetto, and I are so proud to have the opportunity to be here to ensure the seniors of this community have choices to engage in activities, and be educated on the vast resources available. We have such a great venue at the Boyle Center with it’s central location, open space, and collaboration with other community organizations.
Robin and I are eager to meet the needs of the residents of the Boyle Center and the seniors of Cayuga County. We are continuing to have several daily activities available, as well as, services, entertainers, and monthly Health and Wellness Programs. Please join us this month for lots of entertainment, Leader Chiropractic, education about hearing and vision services from AURORA of CNY, a Sock Hop, Jeff Pirozzolo, Superintendent of Auburn City Schools to discuss the upcom-ing budget vote and much more.

keep your cars behind the curb when

May & October Two of the prettiest months of the year are May and October.
May, when we are well into Spring, the flowers are in bloom,
the weather is warmer and the trees and grass are at the greenest. October, is the first full month of Fall.
The trees take on a different color of orange, red and brown and make a beautiful carpet
as they fall to the ground. --Carol Wiseman

Over 50 years ago, Older American’s were recognized and celebrated in the Month of May. The Administration for Community Living reports, “By engaging and supporting all community members, we recognize that older
adults play a key role in the vitality of our neighborhoods, networks, and lives.” Communities like the Boyle Center that encourage and recognize the contributions of older adults are stronger! The 2019 theme, Connect, Create, Contribute, encourages older adults and their communities to:
• Connect with friends, family, and services that support participation.
• Create by engaging in activities that promote learning, health, and personal enrichment.
• Contribute time, talent, and life experience to benefit others.
Please join us in celebrating Older Americans Month and in helping us honor our local Senior Citizen(s) of the Year at Emerson Park!
