Review of Educator Autonomy Working Group Final Report June 2014

Context: The draft final report, Pathways to Understanding, Supporting and Increasing Educator Autonomy in Rhode

Island, was prepared to reflect the process and recommendations that the Educator Autonomy Working Group came to

in June 2014. The outline that was shared at the June 2014 meeting was used to develop the draft final report. The

approach used in writing the report was to (a) briefly describe the process used to develop the recommendations; (b)

present the recommendations in the format discussed at the working meetings; and (c) provide the information (e.g.,

research briefs, interviews, glossary) used by the working group in the appendices. The intent was to be succinct and

provide a strong rationale for why the three recommendations are key ones for moving ahead. Final formatting and

editing of the report will be completed after the July 7, 2014 meeting.

Individual Review: Please review the draft final report using the attached questions. Bring your responses to the July 7,

2014 meeting, at which time we will use this feedback to identify areas of the report that need further clarification or

explanation to represent the work of the group. We will be collecting these feedback sheets at the end of the meeting

so that we can use the information provided for the final editing.

We will NOT do group editing at the meeting; if you have specific editorial corrections or word usage concerns, please

provide the co-chairs with a “marked” version of your report that the writing team will use to make the changes to the

report.
