Educator Autonomy Working Group to meet today
The sixth meeting of Governor Chafee’s Educator Autonomy Working Group will take place today (Monday, May 5, 2014) at the R.I. Department of Education. The group will begin the process of developing specific recommendations for increasing educator autonomy in Rhode Island.

The 17-member working group held its initial meeting in December. The working group, which Governor Chafee appointed, is charged with examining the issue of providing greater autonomy for educators, schools, and school districts across the state. The group meets monthly in public sessions. Next month, the working group will present Governor Chafee with a set of recommendations for action.
