DIET e-Newsletter, March 2020 Darshan Institute of Engineering & Technology 1 Educational Events Workshop on Angular Department of Computer Engineering organized workshop on Angular during 11-21 Mar., 2020 for the students of BE Sem. 4 at the Department. The workshop covered topics like angular project setup and first app, angular project structure, import components in routing module, basic routing, data binding, property and event binding, two-way data binding, interpolation, pipes, etc. Workshop also included case studies and practical sessions. Because of nation wide lock-down due to COVID-19, the workshop was conducted through live online sessions from 17 Mar., 2020 onwards. Expert Talk on Geographic Information System Department of Civil Engineering organized an expert talk on Geographic Information System on 13 Mar., 2020 for students of BE Sem. 4 at the Department. Mr. Hitesh Rathod, CEPT University, Ahmadabad, was the invited expert. During the session he explained application of GIS in various fields such as engineering, medical and tourism. The expert also explained working of GIS and various software used to carry out survey work and analysis of data. Students willing to pursue their carrier in the field of surveying using GIS got an extensive idea of this field.

CAD Quiz 2020
Department of Civil Engineering in collaboration with Khodiyar CADD Center (I) Pvt. Ltd.organized CAD QUIZ. It was the competition involving design and drafting using AutoCAD. Thecompetition was arranged for the students of BE Sem. 4, 6 and 8. Students of BE Sem. 4 -Sapariya Sudhir (190543106044), Ahir Bhavya (190543106059) and Pokal Smit(190543106088) secured ranks in the top three positions and won awards for the same. Theevent was planned to motivate students to develop skills towards use of CAD tools.
Industrial Visit at Jyoti CNC Automation Ltd.
Industrial Visit was organized on 13 Mar.,2020 by Department of MechanicalEngineering, Institute of Diploma Studies, atJyoti CNC Automation Ltd. Rajkot. The visitwas planned for DE Sem. 6 students. The basicobjective of the visit was to make studentsaware of the various manufacturing processesinvolved in the production of differentmanufacturing machines like CNC, VMC etc.Students were able to observe and understanddifferent process and advance technologies inmanufacturing industry.
UltraTech Sparkling Star
Students of BE Sem. 6 of Department of CivilEngineering - Bechara Brijesh, Lodhiya Vatsal,and Parmar Dhimant participated in UltraTechSparkling Star competition and secured theposition of 1st Runner Up. The event wasorganized by UltraTech Cement Ltd. Studentspresented their work on Rigid Pavement. Theevent was organized at Marwadi University,Rajkot on 6 Mar., 2020.

Book Review
King Janak and Queen Sunaina. Sita is described as a knowledge lover from her young age andexpert in real-life situation handling as learned from her mother. She is very kind, calm andshown as powerful administrator of Mithila.
This book makes us more excited when she gets married to royal prince and how the journey oftheir life takes the turn. Further to add fuel to the interest of readers a parallel backgroundstory is developed where the next Vishnu is going to be selected from either of the two i.e. Ramor Sita.
With this book, Author Amish Tripathi has given us a Sita who is fielding armies single-handedly, who is a champion archer , hardworking princesses, an efficient queen, and an ableadministrator.

Sita – Warrior of Mithila is a fantasy book by one of thepopular authors of recent time from India, Amish Tripathi.This book is the second part of Ram Chandra Series, by theauthor. The first book in the series was Scion of Ikshvaku, andthird book Raavan – Enemy of Aryavarta. These three booksare describing the characters of Ram, Sita and Ravan andinter-relation between them. The most liked part of all threebooks is that similar situations are described by the differentperspectives of different characters. So that we canunderstand a situation very clearly from all the views.
The book Sita - Warrior of Mithila, is around a mythologicalcharacter of Sita. The author has portrayed Sita in a very niceand traditional manner. Sita, also known as Bhoomi as beingfound in a furrow, grows up as the daughter of royal couple
