Educational EventsFelicitation Ceremony – 2019As a part of regular practice at the Institute scholarship is awarded to meritorious students ofDegree and Diploma Engineering on basis of their performance in university examination.Felicitation cum institute scholarship program was arranged at Institute for Diploma studies byDepartment of Computer Engineering on 23 Sept., 2019 and Department of Mechanical andElectrical Engineering on 25 Sept., 2019. The purpose of the scholarship is to appreciate andencourage achievers as well as to create an environment of positive competition amongstudents. Top rankers in each semester in each branch identified on basis of their SPI areawarded the scholarship. Parents were invited in the function to become part of this proudmovement. During the felicitation function library best readers award were also given to topthree users of library resources. Also winners of mini project exhibition held at the departmentwere also felicitated.

A Seminar on MYSY Scholarship Registration ProcessA seminar on MYSY Scholarship application forfirst year students of all branches wasarranged at Diploma Institute on 21 Sept.,2019. The seminar was delivered by Prof. P. T.Patel. The main objective of the seminar was toexplain in brief about MYSY fresh applicationand rules and regulations related to it. Detailsshared in the seminar will help students betterunderstand the process for availing MYSYscholarship.

Ltd. & Sky SurgicalDepartment of Mechanical Engineering organized industrial visit for their students of BE Sem. 3semester at Steelcon Metal Cast Pvt. Ltd. and Sky Surgical, Rajkot. The visit was organized on 13Sept., 2019. Steelcon Metal Cast Pvt. Ltd established in 2006 has a foundry set up withinstallation of disamatic vertical high pressure moulding line and well equipped CNC machiningfacility. During the visit students also got opportunity to interact and learn from the founders ofthe company Mr. Dinesh Kotecha and Rohan Kotecha. Sky Surgical, the second company whichwas visited, is a leading manufacturer of orthopedic implants and surgical instruments. Skysurgical is a purpose-driven, forward-thinking company that is driven to change the wayimplants are manufactured and priced.


Workshop on AutoCAD Department of Civil Engineering incollaboration with CADD Centre, Rajkotorganized two days workshop on AutoCADduring 20-21 Sept., 2019. The workshopincluded basic demonstration of CAD softwareand basic commands required for preparing2D drawings. The workshop was delivered byexperts from CADD Centre, Rajkot.Industrial Visit at Machhu–2 DamDepartment of Civil Engineering organized oneday visit of Machhu - 2 Dam for their studentsof BE Sem. 5 on 21 Sept., 2019. During the visitstudents could understand basics of damstructure and water supply network. MrDharmesh Vadher (Additional AssistantEngineer) explained students about causes offailure of dam structure, spillway capacitycalculation and other important thing whichwere very useful to students.

After necessaryexplanation students were involved in exercise oncalculation of electricity bill and identifyingpossibility of savings in given electricity bill.

Extracurricular ActivitiesTeachers’ Day CelebrationTeachers’ Day was celebrated at the Institute on 5 Sept., 2019. The celebration was organized bythe students to express respect and gratitude towards the faculty members. In a special programarranged on the occasion students presented exciting poems, short speeches, etc. befitting to theoccasions. Students were encouraged and motivated by Principal of the Institute Dr. R. G.Dhamsaniya. The day was celebrated in a similar manner at Diploma Institute also. As a part ofcelebration students also played role of a teacher and delivered lecture. Top performers in thiswere also felicitated.

The Sound of Music Music club at the Institute organized a musicevent The Sound of Music on 7 Sept., 2019.Group of twelve students of the Instituteperformed in this event and exhibited theirtalents. The event involved singingperformance from students on karaoke soundtrack along with performance on musicalinstruments. The event was a lot of fun andaudience also enjoyed being the part of thesame.
