1. The medium of instruction for western education will be English.(C.A 1813)

2. Establishment of Education Department: the Public instruction Department should be established in every province headed by a Director. The Department shall keep a watch on the progress of education.(W. D. 1854)

3. Establishment of Graded Education: a graded system of education was introduced as under:

1. Primary schools, 2. Middle schools,3. High School, and 4. Universities, (W. D. 1854)

4. Grant-in Aid System: grant-in Aid system should be developed to encourage the private enterprise in the field of education. (W. D. 1854)

5. Training for the Teachers: Different types of training institution should be established for imparting training to the teachers. (W. D. 1854)

1. Women Education: Recognizing the importance of women Education it advocated its promotion and appreciated the efforts of those who were working in this field. (W. D. 1854)

2. Expansion of Mass Education: showing concern over the negligence of mass Education recommended that a large number of Primary Middle and High schools should be established. (W. D. 1854)

3. Expansion of Education for Women: The commission recommended that private girls schools should be given liberal aid. A separate inspectorate should be established for the guidance of women education. (HUNTER COMMISSION, 1882)

4. Teachers’ Training: The Commission recommended that every possible effort should be made to train teachers. As far as possible, trained teachers should be appointed in educational institutions. (HUNTER COMMISSION, 1882)

5. There should be provision for universal, compulsory and free education for the children between the ages of 6 and 14. (S.R.1944)

6. Adult education should be promoted for the liquidation of illiteracy. (S.R.1944)

7. Teachers training should be further improved and service conditions of the teachers should be made better. (S.R.1944)
