Education Fast Tracking as at May 2019 Water Polo Australia (WPA) invites eligible members to apply for Fast Tracking to their desired accreditation. In 2018 WPA introduced a revised framework of education accreditations and awards for water polo. The new accreditation framework differs from past models in that it facilitates specialised knowledge to enable coaches/officials when working with targeted groups/levels of athletes. No longer is accreditation a progressive hierarchy, but a true reflection of the required skills and knowledge for the specific group of athletes an individual is working with. All WPA accreditation and award courses have set pre-requisites that must be obtained prior to enrolment in a course. WPA’s Education Fast Tracking process is a means for eligible members to by-pass some or all of the required pre-requisites to be able to reach the appropriate level of accreditation in a quicker timeframe. What is Fast Tracking? Eligible members may apply to have some or all pre-requisites waived, enabling access to the appropriate accreditation level in a quicker timeframe. Who looks after Fast Tracking? The WPA office assess and makes the final decision in relation to eligibility, based on the evidence supplied and following consultation with the respective State Association. What courses can I be Fast Tracked into? Pending eligibility, the only WPA courses that Fast Tracking applies to are; Advanced Coach Development Referee Advanced Referee Who is eligible for Fast Tracking? Current water polo members are eligible to apply for Fast Tracking if they meet the criteria (p.g 2). What evidence is required? Please refer to the assessment matrix (p.g 2) for evidence requirements per accreditation course. How do I apply for Fast Tracking? Via the WPA website, you will find “Fast Tracking Application”. All details within the online from are required for the application to be considered. What is the cost? A $60 (Inc. GST) administration fee is payment for consideration of Fast Tracking. If your application is denied, your application fee will be 50% refunded. If your application is accepted, your fee is non-refundable. Full course fees are payable upon enrollment. Do I still need to complete the course? YES – Fast Tracking waives some or all of the course pre-requisites. The course must be completed in full, inclusive of online modules, functional activities and practical assessments. Is Fast Tracking different to RPT? YES – RPT was a temporary process offered by WPA between 1 Sept 2018 and 30 June 2019 to facilitate the transition of previously accredited individuals into the new system as appropriate. Fast Tracking differs in that it exists to support eligible members to move through the recommended pathway in a shorter timeframe. What happened to my RPT? If you previously applied for RPT and were denied, or did not enroll in your RPT course before 30 June 2019, this process is no longer valid and has been replaced by Fast Tracking. You will be required to re-apply, if eligible, for Fast Tracking from 1 July 2019.

• U14 and/or U16 age matches

• Social U18 matches • Social Senior matches

Course pre-requisite of holding a WPA Community Referee Accreditation for minimum two (2) years may be waived if successful.

Advanced Referee

• Competitive U18’s and above matches (e.g. State and National Champs)

• AWL matches

Course pre-requisite of holding a WPA Development Referee Accreditation (or WPA Community Referee Accreditation) for minimum two (2) years may be waived if successful.
