Synopsis:H.G. Wells once stated: “Civilization is a race between education and catastrophe.” If the state of education is the measure for all civilization, then the most powerful industrial nations are steering towards a catastrophe, for their educational system erodes continuously. The illiteracy rate in the United States is ascending in unison with the juvenile crime rate, while the public school sector dramatically fails to provide a quality education wherein students learn "how to think...not what to think."

The search for a pathway out of the educational crisis led to Houston, Texas. Here, an active concern and an innate love for children inspired Marilyn Wilhelm to build her own school in the 1970s. Her holistic family-oriented approach unites the wisdom of thousands of years: science, the arts, philosophy, etymology, mathematics, ethics and values.

Already filmed preliminary interviews reveal that she has been providing a unique landmark education, that, on a world scale is unparalleled - both in the quality of its interdisciplinary, intercultural, interlingual Curriculum and in the development of character. Her approach encompasses a balanced use of right and left sides of the brain - a profound key to a healthy and memorable learning process. Her former students are proof of her holistic approach, as they truly embody the linkage of a quality education and the development of people of integrity. As a result, all of her former students excel in their fields of work.

Twenty-five years ago CBS television created an Emmy Award-winning documentary on Wilhelm Scholê International entitled, “To See a World”. It takes 25 to 30 years to prove the efficacy of any educational approach. “Education: the most profound art of all time” grants an exclusive and in depth look into the success of the Wilhelm Ecumenical Unified Global Curriculum and intertwines it with the latest discoveries in brain research, medicine, and genetics.

Leading scientists and educational experts share their insights into these subjects and help us understand why early childhood education, life-long learning, and language are such vital ingredients to a balanced lifestyle as well as physical and mental well-being. For example, research shows that life-long learning serves as a deterrent to dementia and Alzheimer's and that language affects over-all health.

“Education: the most profound art of all time” shows the importance of the personality of the teachers and the love for the subject they are teaching. The documentary will demonstrate that neither a large amount of money or an impressive building are needed to give children an outstanding, life-changing education that enables them to become true global renaissance human beings and, "The true test of the school is the character that emerges from it."
