The session will provide a thorough understanding of the Fudge colour portfolio Headpaint and Paintbox. Designed as an introduction for salons interested in the Fudge brand and as a refresher for existing stylists. Also included will be hair structure, the colour wheel, Catalyst choice, achieving the correct target shade and formulating.

The aim of this course is: An opportunity to ask questions and to receive answers on all your colour concerns and to motivate and grow your confidence in the use of Headpaint and Paintbox colour.

This course will introduce you to the varied and clever world of Scruples Colour products.

The aim of this course is: To understand the full range of Scruples Colour Gels and Cream Colour systems, including Blazing Lights, Shadows, Illusionist, High Definition and Hypnotic. This varied but simple range of Scruples Colour can do what you need from deposit and lifting colour, to lightening previously coloured hair, to darkening lightened hair all in one step procedures making hard and time consuming colour corrections a thing of the past.

The course is suitable for: Every hairdresser who wants to save time and money and offer their clients quick and effortless multi-tonal colour results and corrections.

This course teaches colourists to understand the client’s personality and individual characteristics enabling them to create the perfect colour service.

The aim of this course is: This unique consultation system takes colouring skills to a new dimension and customises colour by design placement for each individual client. Discover skin tone, eye colour and face shape and how they affect choice of tone, depth and placement.

The course is suitable for: Colourists looking to perfect the colour service they offer to their regular clients and attract new colour customers to the salon.

Improving your Cutting Skills T P

This 2 day cutting course is devoted to the perfecting of cutting techniques allowing you the time and space to truly perfect lines, graduation, layering and their combinations.

The aim of this course is: To provide the very best foundation for boosting your skills and knowledge by immersing yourself in hands-on practical work sessions and detailed tutorials from highly qualified Alan Howard Educators. A total of 7 cuts are completed including 1 length, square and round layering, graduation, over direction, pivot cutting and texturising techniques.

The course is suitable for: Newly qualified stylists who want to perfect their technical skills or stylists who want to revisit classic cutting techniques.

Requirements: NVQ level 2.

What is supplied: Educational material and 2 mannequin heads are provided.

Tools to bring along: Hairdressing equipment to include: hair dryer, straightening irons, tail comb, brushes, scissors and cutting comb.

American Crew Grooming P

The focus for this one day course is on 3 iconic styles with a modern twist; The REBEL, with the legacy of James Dean being a strong influence within this haircut. The ICON, gives a nod to the refined style that was Cary Grant, this haircut has held it’s own for decades and is as relevant today as it was back then. The CROP, with its heritage from the likes of Steve McQueen and George Clooney, this modern classic will never go out of style.

The aim of this course is: For stylists and barbers to be confident and creative when cutting and styling men’s hair with a selection of tools including the clipper, razor and American Crew products.

The course is suitable for: Hairdressers and barbers who want to advance their cutting and styling techniques.


What is supplied: Male mannequin heads, technical hand outs and products.

Tools to bring along: Clippers, combs, scissors, feather razor, hair dryer and a water spray.

Qualification Gained: American Crew Grooming Certificate.

Theory or Practical: Practical.

T PTotal Barbering

A full day’s ‘hands-on’ tuition of basic and advanced barbering skills – including ‘blending in’ using clippers, scissors and thinning scissors, razor cutting. Traditional and modern styling on the four main male hair lengths; long/medium/short and very short i.e. zero fade, and also how to create the latest facial hair looks.

The aim of this course is: To cover and teach the artistic understanding and technical skills required to achieve professional standards of barbering.

The course is suitable for: Ladies hairdressers/unisex hairdressers and barbers.

Requirements: You must have some basic cutting ability and experience.

What is supplied: Facial and head hair practice head, stand, some spare tools and refreshments.

Tools to bring along: Note pad and pen. Shaper type razors (for cutting hair + spare blades), scissors/thinning scissors, clippers with 1,2,3,4 guards, water spray bottle, selection of combs and camera.

Qualification Gained: A certificate of Total Barbering.


Timings: 10am - 4:30pm.



The ‘Barbershop’ Shave

A full day’s ‘hands-on’ tuition of how to perform the ‘Barbershop’ shave.

The aim of this course is: To cover and teach the technical skills required to achieve professional standards of shaving. The standards taught are linked to and taken from the National Occupational Standard.

The course is suitable for: Ladies hairdressers/unisex hairdressers and barbers.

Requirements: You do not need to have any hairdressing/barbering experience NOTE! - Beauticians can make excellent shaving students as they should already possess essential knowledge and understanding of skin types, health, safety and hygiene.

What is supplied: Specific handout booklet, special 14 stroke practice heads, stands, razors, blades, towels, gowns, brushes, protective gloves, some spare tools and refreshments.

Tools to bring along: Note pad, pen and camera. There is no need to bring anything else as all razors, lather, brushes etc will be provided.

Model Required: You will need to arrange a model to arrive at 1pm. Models will need to stay for rest of afternoon and please inform them not to grow more than one day’s growth!

Qualification Gained: A certificate of The Barbershop Shave.

Wahl Funky Men

All serious professional barbers and hairdressers know how important it is to stay up to date with styles and techniques and get the most out of your skills. With constant changes to fashion there is always something new to learn and everyone needs a refresh from time to time. Funky Men is an advanced barbering course, ideal for updating basic skills and learning new techniques for achieving the latest looks such as the Simon Shaw’s ‘famous flick & smack’ texturizing method.

The aim of this course is: To help you bring the men back into your salon and keep them there.

The course is suitable for: Qualified Barbers or stylists who are looking to advance and update their Barbering skills in line with the latest trends.

Requirements: 3 years barbering/mens cutting experience is recommended.

What is supplied: Clippers, trimmers and attachments. Refreshments will also be provided.

Tools to bring along: Scissors, combs, trimmers, hairdryers, straighteners.

Model Required: Models must be male, fairly young but not less than 13 or 14 years of age and be willing to have a change of style rather than just a trim. Hair must be around an inch in length or longer. Varying lengths of hair is preferable.

Qualification Gained: At the end of the course you don’t only leave inspired, motivated and educated, you also receive a HABIA endorsed certificate recognising your achievement in terms of Continual Professional Development (CPD).

Wahl Clipper Design

The ability to create a design and then transfer that design to hair and make it look sharp and 3D is a fantastic skill to have and one that allows you to show off your creative flair. It doesn’t matter if you have never done a pattern before and want to learn the basics, or if you have been practicing for a while and want to develop and perfect your skill.

The aim of this course is: To provide stylists and barbers witth the skills to enable them to choose the best design, layout the design and use the right techniques and tools to perfect edges and create 3D effects.

The course is suitable for: Hair stylists and barbers looking to develop their clippering skills.

Requirements: Three years of general barbering/hairdressing experience is recommended.



Model Required: Models must be male or female no younger than 13/14 and willing to have design work done in their hair. Hair colour must not be too fair/light otherwise the designs will not stand out very well and hair must be no less than 1 cm in length.

Fading is perhaps one of the most important skills in men’s hairdressing and possibly one of the hardest to perform to a high standard. Fades are a mainstream style that have been around for years, and due to the styles simple upkeep requirements, it is likely to be a style that remains popular for years to come. The ability to fade well means the difference between a good cut and a great cut.

The aim of this course is: This course teaches all aspects of this classic barbering technique from the basics you need to know, creating the perfect fade with no visible lines and a clean finish, to the more advanced technicalities needed to achieve skin fades, shading and blending.

Hair Weave Extension Course

The Weave Hair Extensions course will cover all skills required to apply these extensions for a customer, deliver aftercare for hair extensions along with marketing techniques to attract a client base.

The aim of this course is: To give you the skills, confidence, motivation and knowledge to fit and remove weave hair extensions and advise clients on aftercare.

The course is suitable for: Anyone who wishes to be inspired to provide high quality, bio-friendly hair extensions and add to their skills portfolio.

Requirements: No previous experience is required for this course.A kit is required to complete this course. The kit contains: Training Head with clamp, a pack of hair wefts, hair sewing needle (curved or ‘C’ Needle), 100% polyester hair thread (3 colours), tail comb, hair extensions brush, small scissors sewing unpicker, hair sectioning clips, small clear elastic bands and a kit bag.


Tools to bring along: For those who wish to bring their own equipment, please ensure you have all the items and tools listed in the kit.

It covers the classic, elegant and timeless looks that brides want to achieve and yet can be modernised with a twist or a braid for the prom looks that our younger clientele want.

The aim of this course is: To enable you to create the classic looks we will concentrate on the foundations of dressing long hair taking you through traditional but ever popular shapes like chignons and pleats.

The course is suitable for: All hairdressers who are just starting to offer bridal or prom styling or more experienced stylists that want to polish their skills in the more classic long hair dressing styles.

The effects you can gain from braiding are so varied and popular, and sometimes the simple can look beautiful. This braiding course will cover many different varieties of braiding from a simple but effective 4 strand braid to the more complicated but stunning 11 strand braid and will include an intricate crocheted technique and a new take on a fishtailed look.

The aim of this course is: To enhance your long hair dressing skills focusing on the art and use of braiding.

The course is suitable for: Any hairdressers who are looking to develop or enhance their braiding/long hair dressing skills to create both up to date and classical looks.

The course is suitable for: Students who have successfully completed the 2 day Michelle Porter Introductory course or similar.

Requirements: Students MUST have nail enhancements ready for infills and maintenance from the previous workshop.

A two day hands-on course for beginners – choice of either acrylic or UV gel application.

The aim of this course is: Designed to give students an insight into the world of nailtechnology, enabling them to learn basic skills.

The course is suitable for: Beginners.

Requirements: An acrylic or UV Gel training kit must be purchased before the course begins. This can be purchased from your local store. Students will work in pairs, nails should be natural and free from extensions.


Tools to bring along: Students must bring their acrylic or UV Gel Training Kit with them to the course.

Qualification Gained: Once you have completed the Beginner course, if the student decides to pursue a part or full-time career in nails, we highly recommend that they attend our Qualifying Course in order to learn the essential skills to become a nail technician and receive certification that will allow them to be able to obtain insurance.





Cuccio 2-Day Gel/Acrylic Qualifying Course T P

A two day hands-on course designed as an extension of the 2 day beginner course (i.e. day 3 and 4) – choice of either acrylic or uv gel application.

The aim of this course is: Designed to give students who have attended the 2 day beginner course, a further 2 days of more in-depth training on the practical application followed by a written test which will result in certification if successfully completed. The course will run two weeks after the Beginner course to allow valuable practice time.

The course is suitable for: Trainees who have attended our 2 day beginner course.
