What makes Bucks UTC different?

Why study at Bucks UTC?

We take learning out of the classroom, making it more relevant to real life and the world of work. We have outstanding employer links with multi-national sponsors (Taylor Wimpey, Intel/McAfee, CISCO, Esri), plus excellent support from many local employer partners. Our curriculum is built to deliver the real world skills employers want from their next generation of employees.

You will:> Receive support from an incredibly committed team> Obtain skills which put you tangibly ahead of your peers> Be given access to work placements which open up future opportunities> Become the highly skilled employee of your generation

If you have a passion for learning in an environment that challenges your abilities to excel in Computing or Construction, come and see what we have to offer. Become the professional you want to be. We ensure our students achieve excellent results in their specialism and achieve a meaningful outcome.

Our year 11 students achieved marks which were 25% better than the national average in their specialist vocational courses. 50% of students stayed on at the UTC, 10% went in to apprenticeships and 40% went in to other education or work.

At year 13 our students achieved marks which were 21% better than the national average in their specialist vocational courses. Our students achieved their first choice university places or are now working in their chosen company and professions.

This is a very exciting time for Bucks UTC. Our philosophy of delivering our students an employer led curriculum is truly enabling them to be the highly skilled workforce of tomorrow. The STEM agenda in our specialist areas of Computing and Construction has never been more important. We provide the students with the necessary skills that meet the needs of employers. We apply the theory of the classroom to the real world by ensuring our students gain insight and access to real employers and projects.

We are exceeding expectations with our academic progress for all students and we continue to grow the environment in a way that enhances the experiences of everyone involved. Real life projects and work placements provide our students with the opportunity to apply knowledge to real world environments.

We have just seen our first students leave and I am delighted to say 100% of them moved in to work, apprenticeships or continued into further or higher education. Please see the case studies within this prospectus for examples of what our students think. Please also see what our partners, students and those who have moved on say about us on our website.

We create an environment which allows individual learning styles and needs to flourish, whilst focusing GCSE subject matter in projects and exercises which clearly relate to the industry specialism. All students are offered involvement in projects which enhance the experiences of the GCSE curriculum throughout the year.
