Essay : “Tertiary Education Opportunities For In-Service Teacher”

In century of 21, education is importance for everyone. Education is the most vital

component in everyone’s life. It represents a status of a person. Without education we might

grow wise. However, not everyone will get the chance to proceed to their tertiary level

education. They are mostly tied with the reasons of financial restriction or time restriction.

In Malaysia, teacher in-service have many way to pursue their tertiary education,

such as Program Graduate Teacher (Program Pensiswazahan Guru), Program Graduate

Teacher In Primary School (Pensiswazahan Guru Sekolah Rendah), Open University

Malaysia (OUM), University Perguruan Syed Idrus (UPSI), Malaysian Teaching Diploma

(KDPM), Certificate Course (KPA), and The Post-Degree Teacher Training Course (KPLI),

PJJ, UPM, PGSR, OUM, UPM, PISMP and more.This is definitely good news for those in

service teachers who plan to forgot their study without giving up their long time building

career as they can study during weekend. It is completely free without the teachers to pay a

single cent on it. The programme has opened up a good opportunity for teachers to upgrade

themselves in their pathway of teaching.

With the higher level educations teacher can be open to constructive criticism. Only

“professional” people are capable of knowing and understanding children. The importance

of higher education can be judged from the way it benefits a person financially, emotionally,

socially, as well as intellectually. It also equips us with all that is needed to make our

dreams come true. Education opens doors of brilliant career opportunities. It fetches better

prospects in career and growth. Every employer of today requires his prospective

employees to be well educated. He requires expertise. So, education becomes an eligibility

criterion for employment into any sector of the industry. We are rewarded for exercising the

expertise required for the field we venture.

This programme is mainly to improve the personality of the teacher and lead them to

a higher level of education in order to stay competitive in the society. They will be able to

keep up- to- date with the changes in teaching technique and exchange ideas by having

individual in a same profession having discussion together, share their methods and

technique of teaching. Through these sharing, individual may be able to alter their methods

and skills of teaching to meet the requirement of society. Students will also be benefitted

from the quality teaching from the graduated teachers. On the other hand, when they have

completed their studies for a certain period, they will be given a promotion and increase in

their pay.

Despite all the good of the programme, there is a price to pay, the teachers have to

balance up their life in between studies and works. They have to put in some effort in

selecting priority on these two options in order to reach a balance life. Study as a part timer

is tougher than full timer as they have to come out with the same outcome by just having

few classes on the weekend. There is a term called today’s youth, tomorrow’s leader, with

the booming of the development in the country, instilling the students with a quality

education is definitely help in crossing a big step on the development of the country as

children are the hope for the country. This programme can efficiently helps the teachers in

providing and giving the future leader with a standard teaching. Therefore, teachers are

encourages to join in the programme in cultivating potential leaders and offers better

services to the mass.

Any one country only to education as a central theme in order to achieve prosperity.

真誠、忠誠、服務人類，愛心和公正。We should be watched in the spirit of excellence, has

demonstrated the virtues of the human world, such as sincerity, loyalty, service of mankind,

love and justice.他必須通過自己在推動和平和團結以及促進學習使自己出類拔粹。 We must

own to promote peace and solidarity and the promotion of learning to pull themselves out of

pure class. 教育的真正目的就是要引領人們走向這條道路。The real purpose of education is

to lead people toward this path.
