What is ESL?
According to wisegeek.com, ESL is an acronym that is used primarily in educational settings and stands for English as a Second Language.
It refers to teaching English to a person whose native or primary language is one other than English.

How Does ESL Relate to Pluralism?
According to the Oxford English Dictionary, pluralism is “the presence or tolerance of a diversity of ethnic or cultural groups within a society or state; toleration or acceptance of the coexistence of differing views, values, and cultures”.
Helps blend multiple cultures and languages Socializes students Uniting students under a common language Accommodating students rather than assimilating them Allows equal potential for learning Diminishes language barriers within stereotypes
