Our technical meeting speaker this month will be Brent Mitchell/Kemex, who’ll outline best practices and processes for safe operations in our industry and some interesting case studies. As an added bonus, Jim Gibbon of local Amber Brewing will take us thru the challenges for making high quality beer and provide small samplers. After discussing the benefits of ISA with a few people, it strikes me that few really know what those benefits are. The following are a few of the benefits of membership, whether for personal, professional or for business reasons, that we choose to use. What are you missing? Overall - there's some 45+ folks joining us for our monthly technical meetings, forming good relationships outside of work. ISA Automation Week

October 4 - 5, 2010 Westin Galleria Hotel

Houston, Texas www.isaautomationweek.org/yourway

Continued From Page 1 Our executive board could use someone to assist Ian Verhappen with the newsletter. We also need someone to track job postings for our members. This month featured the hand-off of the website from Eb Mueller/Syncrude to Dion Dube/Enbridge. We thank Dion for picking up the reins and our thanks to Eb Mueller as he guided and updated our website for the last 10 years. If you missed our corporate golf tournament, some 80 folks participated in the first annual corporate golf tournament at The Ranch August 27th, which was made interesting by some howling winds in the 50km/hr range. Thanks to Gordon Krug/Telematic Controls for a successful tournament, which donated $580 to the Stollery Children’s Fund. Welcome back! Marty Bince, President
