President’s Message

Dear Beta Chi Sisters,

How wonderful to meet together with so many

sisters and friends at the Peter Allen Inn House!

How fortunate that Eileen Niemi could share that

lovely evening among us as our honored Charter

Member. Her eyes sparkled all night long.

Fall is here with winter quickly encroaching.

Soon those weather forecasters will be predict-

ing that four-letter word (SNOW)! Lest we allow

this autumn season to slip through our fingers,

let’s take time to consider the beautiful diversity

of colors; the red, the gold, the brown, the or-

ange, the yellow. Each one enhances the other

simply by being different. The following poem

was written by a student. Perhaps, she was talk-

ing about more than leaves.

I like sunshine, I like trees.

I like dancing in the breeze.

I turn orange, I turn brown.

I go sailing to the ground.

I am crispy. I can crunch.

Get raked up in one big bunch.

During the Thanksgiving and Christmas sea-

sons, as you gather with family and friends, sa-

vor their sweet smiles and laugh at their corny

jokes. We can choose to be tolerant of others’

opinions and Aunt Betty’s five-pound fruitcake!

We hope you relax and enjoy. Looking forward

to celebrating on December 6th with our Alpha

Omega sisters and each one of you!

DKG Love,

Ann and Wendy

Throwback to Teaching

Kathy Morrow

Young, preschool children can be very en-dearing and their affectionate comments and gestures keep me going. Recently, a pre-school special needs child asked me if I own a car and inquired about the type of car I drive. I told her I have a Jeep. She ex-pressed to me that she has room in her gar-age for my car. She had an idea that she wanted to run by her mother. She suggested that I come to her home, park my Jeep in her garage, and play with her and her kitchen set. She said she would ask her mother if I could sleep over too!

It was reminded that every Committee is responsible for two baskets or two sets of things for the holiday raffle for the December meeting.
