Coronavirus ha s cau sedhavoc throughout the world. Ourcountry too was not spared. As ap rec au t i o n a ry meas u re , ana tion wide lockdo wn wasimposed on 24thMarch 2020, asa result of which, crores ofpeople became job less . Ineconomic terms, our countrydrifted many years . Thosepeople who earned daily wagesfor a living were renderedhelpless. They were left tomercy for one square meal.There was misery on the facesof people. Those who neverbegged were compelled to do so.Those mothers and sisters whonever revealed their identity tostrangers were forced to do so toreceive rat ion . There werehorrific scenes to witness. Thesituation was immensely awful.More than sixty percent of thepopulation of the country wasalready living below the povertyline and the sudden unplanned

lockdown did not provide achance to the migrant labourersto get back to their nativeplaces. The plight of migrantlabourers from states like West

B e n g a l ,B i h a r ,

Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, andOdisha was indescribable .Within a few days into thelo c k d o w n , th e p eo p l e o fHyderabad who are known fortheir service to humanity, stoodup and turned to the slums andstarted helping the poor helplesspeople, widows, and orphans.The relief was initiated throughsup ply of ra t ion an d cashassistance. Food was beingpro vid ed to th o u san d s o fmigrant labourers who set outon foot on the national highwaysin anticipation of joining theirloved ones back home. proved their generosity andloosened the strings of theirpurses. They went from home tohome to help the deserving.Their extensive services will notbe forgotten. On one hand, theirservices will go down in thepages of history and on the otherhand, their generosity will beweighed on the scales of justiceon the Day of Resurrection,Insha Allah. Besides individuals,various welfare organisationswere also in the forefront. SafaBaitul Maal India, your ownorganisation, too has left itsmark on every mo ment ofdistress in the country andrendered services in every aspectduring emergencies like flood orcyclone, earthquake or riots. Assoon as the lockdown wasimplemented, the trustees ofSafa Baitul Maal decided toi n i t i a t e r e l i e f m e a s u r e s .Therefore, on a daily basis,deserving people were identifiedin the poor localities and rationdistribution was initiated in anorganised manner. The rationwas distributed in the followinglocalities: Malakpet, Yakutpura,Amberpet, Ziaguda, Uppuguda,

Through Safa Baitul Maal,ration worth one crore twenty-fivelakh rupees was distributed dailyfrom 1st April to 13th May to10000 households belonging to thefollowing localities. At first, theration was distributed to thosep e o p l e w h o w e r e i s s u e de n t i t l e m e n t c a r d s b y t h eorganisation after the survey.Besides, the ration was distributedto migrant labourers from differentstates who were s tranded atvarious locations. The centralpresident Moulana Gayas AhmedRashadi has informed that thedis t ressed peop le who werestanding in queues at the postoffices and Mee Seva centres fromlate night to receive Rs.1500 fromthe government were distributedassistance of Rs.500 each, undert h e s u p e r v i s i o n o f t h evice-president of Safa Baitul MaalMufti Abdul Mohaimin AzharAl-Qasmi. So far, ration worth onecrore twenty-five lakh rupees, thathas been packed at the Bandlagudaunit, was distributed to more than10000 households.

The unique, exemplary andorganised services of Safa BaitulMaal are recognised in every nookand corner of the country. Timelye m e r ge n c y se r v ic e s o f t heorganisation, reaching out to thed e s e r v i n g f o r a s s i s t a n c e ,t e a m - b a s e d f i e l d w o r k a n dextensive work based on surveyand experience and channelizingthe funds of the virtue-seekers tothe deserving in a transparent andsa t is fac t o ry manner a re thecharacteristics of the organisation.The process of monthly grants tothe disabled is functional for thepast 13 years. These disabledpersons and widows live a helplesslife but with dignity. Safa BaitulMaal conducted a comprehensivesurvey of these people through itsteam and began distributing them

grants. The guiding force behindthe reputation and diversity of theservices of Safa Baitul Maal arethe blessings of hundreds of suchhelpless and deserving widows.With the commencement of thelast part of Ramzan, the process ofdistribution of monthly grants andRamzan ration to these deservingwidows and disabled persons wasinitiated. The central staff of SafaBaitul Maal, while on one hand,was engaged in serving water tothe migrating labourers and inother services, on the other hand, itwas busy in distributing ration tope o p le a ffe c t e d d ue to thel o c k d o w n o n a c c o u n t o fCoronavirus. The team of Safa isengaged in hard work in thescorching sun. Besides disabledpersons and widows, Safa BaitulMaal is sponsoring more than 200orphans. All these orphan boys andgir ls have bee n e nro l led indifferent Muslim managementschools of the city and Safa BaitulMaal is paying their school fees.During the last part of Ramzan,ration and educational grants wereissued to their households.

thousands of cab drivers workingfor Ola and Uber have lost theirdaily earnings, since the lockdownwas imposed, the Safa Baitul Maaldistributed 560 ration kits onFriday. Central president MoulanaGayas Ahmed Rashadi said thatlockdown affected livelihoods ofalmost everyone and hoped thiswould help them support theirfamilies in these tough times. Eachkit comprised of ten essentialitems, sufficient for a family for atleast 10 days.Eid kits worth Rs.10 lakhs

Through Safa Baitul Maal, Eidkits were dis t r ibuted beforeEid-ul-Fitr to 1800 deservingpersons from Malakpet a rea.Besides , 20 0 Eid ki ts w eredistributed in Bandlaguda andShastripuram areas. Thus, 2000Eid kits wor th Rs.500 eachto t a l l ing Rs . 1 0 la khs we r edistributed. Each kit comprised of2 kg sona masoori rice, one kgsugar, one kg vermicelli, two litresmilk and fifty grams each ofalmonds, dates, cashews andmelon seeds and 200 grams dalda.

Medical assistant during the lockdown Due to the lockdown, phone

evaluation facility was initiated bySa f a Ba i t u l M a a l . I n t h i sconnect ion, medic ines weresuggested to 378 patients afterdiagnosis. This apart, assistancethrough Rs.16000 and medicineswas provided to 16 patients. Inaddition, 25 needy patients weregiven home delivery of medicines.Li k e w is e , m e d ic i n e s w e r eprovided to 98 patients sufferingfrom diffe rent diseases, whoapproached the office. This apart,an assistance o f Rs.600 wasprovided to 3 needy patients.Distribution of monthly grantsto helpless widows, deserving

disabled and poor peopleThrough Safa Baitul Maal, food

grants are issued after completeinvestigation to destitute widows,disabled persons, deserving peopleand impoverished householdsliving in different localities ofHyderabad; therefore, during thecurrent month too, three monthgrants of Rs.5000 to 4 helplesswidows, Rs.27,000 to 5 deservingpoors and Rs.20,000 to 5 poordisabled persons have been issued.


Miscellaneous AssistanceThrough Safa Baitul Maal,

a s s i s t a n c e i s i s s u e d a f t e rinvestigation to victims of variousaccidents, deserving and poordisabled persons and patients;hence during the current month,Rs. 1,87,000 to 6 poor patients andRs.1,42,000 to 23 needy personshave been issued. Construction of Mosques

in Villages Through Safa Baitul Maal,

mosques are built in villages in

different s tates of India likeTelangana , Andhra Pradesh,Assam, Jharkhand, Bihar wherethere are no mosques and no placeof collective worship for Muslimswhere they could gather to pray toGod and offer Namaz; throughSafa Baitul Maal, mosques arebeing built for Muslims in villagesaway from towns; till now, 200mosques have been built throughSafa Baitul Maal. In this month,more Rs.1,80,000 were spent onthe construction of a mosque.

Through he Karimnagar branchof Safa Baitul Maal, like previousyears , this year too , on theoccasion of Ramzan, Ramzanration packs worth Rs.4 lakhs weredistr ibuted to poor deservingfasting households . Monthlygrants of Rs.500 each totallingRs.40500 were distributed to 81widows, disabled and poor personsand orphans. Assistance through rationa n d c a s h w a s p r o v i d e d insurrounding rural areas. InshaAllah, the ration distribution shallcontinue until the lockdown islifted.

Thro ugh t he A ur angab adbranch of Safa Baitul Maal, duringthe lockdown, more than 2000ration kits worth Rs.1000 eachwere distributed to poor people.Like earlier, this year too, in themonth of Ramzan, 2000 Ramzanration kits worth Rs.1300 eachwere distributed to poor deservingpersons. Besides, more than 100Eid kits wor th Rs.500 weredistributed. Likewise, new clotheswere distributed to poor people forEid. Assistance of Rs.14000 wasprovided for t reatment to anaccident victim. This apart, Iftarand Sahri were supplied daily to

pe r so ns to t a l ling a su m ofRs.120000 were distributed. Onthe occasion of Ramzan, 500Ramzan ration kits worth Rs.1200each totalling Rs.6 lakhs weredistributed to poor households.

At the current moment,when the whole world is in griefdue to the Coronavirus, thesituation of the poor, the middleclass and the daily wage earners isextremely awful. Under suchtesting times when the people areunable to fulfil their needs, theParbhani branch of Safa BaitulMaal has been in the forefront tocater to the needs of the deservingpeople. After conducting a detailedsurvey of the deserving people,tokens were issued to them andt a k ing a l l p r e c a u t io ns a nd


persons in their homes and thereare no earning members. Freetailoring centres are being runsince the last five years in slumlocalities of the town, QidwaiNagar, Farooq Nagar, Kharakpuraand Dulhe Shah Rahman Nagar totrain women and girls and makethem self-reliant. So far, more than1000 women and gir ls havereceived tailoring training fromthese centres. Cash grants aredistributed every month to old andsick men and women. Partialassistance is provided for themarr iages o f poor gir ls andtreatment of patients. Thousandsof people became unemployed allof a sudden due to the lockdownon acco unt o f Co ronav irus .Sensing the gravity of the situationand in the public interest, thein-charge persons of the branch, inassociation with all-party frontNanded, distributed more than7000 ration packs during Ramzan.The servers of the organisation areimmensely grateful to the donorsand well-wishers and are hopefulthat they shall continue theirassistance in the future too; JazakAllah Khair.

7 0 0 h o u s e h o l d s f r o m 5surrounding poor localities. Rationand cash assistance totalling Rs.2lakhs was provided to imams andmuezzins living in nearby villages.2500 patients availed the servicesof 3 Safa clinics.

Through the Bhainsa branch ofSafa Baitul Maal, monthly grantsof Rs.30000 were provided to 100poor widows. Monthly assistanceof Rs.1000 was provided to adisabled person. Shroud sets wereprovided for 2 poor deceasedpersons. Under the supervision ofthe branch, 4 youths donatedblood. Likewise, a fasting persondonated AB+ group blood. In viewo f t h e l o c k d o w n d u e t oCoronavirus, ration packs arebeing constantly distributed toneedy persons.

Through the Nanded branch ofSafa Baitul Maal, like earlier, thisyear too on the occasion ofRamzan, ration kits were supplied,a f t e r s u r v e y, t o 1 0 0 p o o rhouseholds. Ration kits worthRs.1400 were supplied each to 30widows and disabled persons whohave small children or disabled


500 each was distributed to 20disabled persons. Ration packsw o r t h R s . 1 0 0 0 e a c h w e r ed is t r ib u ted t o 10 de serv inghouseholds. 200 ration kits weredistributed to lockdown affectedhouseholds. During Ramzan, Iftarkits were supplied daily to 30 poorhouseholds. As of now 600 kitshave been supplied.

Welfare services ofDharwad branch

Through the Dharwad branchof Safa Baitul Maal, like eachmonth, this month too, grants fromR s . 5 0 0 t o R s . 1 0 0 0 w e r edistributed to 10 poor widows anddisabled persons. Ration worthRs.800 was p rovided to 850lockdown affected households.During Ramzan, Ramzan rationwas d is t r ibuted to 200 poorhouseholds. Ration worth a total of8.5 lakh rupees was distributedduring lockdown and Ramzan.Besides, ration worth Rs.3000 wasd is t r ib u ted t o 15 de serv inghouseho lds . Inquiry of poorpatients is recurrent.

Through the Kurnool branch ofSafa Baitul Maal, monthly grantswere distr ibuted to deservingpersons. On the occasion of

Ramzan, 150 Ramzan ration packsworth Rs.1400 each totalling Rs.2lakhs were distributed to poorhouseholds. Likewise, during thelast part of Ramzan, 50 Ramzanration packs worth Rs.1000 eacht o t a l l i n g R s . 5 0 0 0 0 w e r edistributed to muezzins in differentlocalities.

Welfare services ofWarangal branch

Through the Warangal branchof Safa Baitul Maal, 650 rationpacks were distributed to peopleaffected by the lockdown onaccount of Coronavirus. On theoccasion of Ramzan, 650 Ramzanration packs were distributed.Ration worth almost 12 lakhrupees was distributed during thelockdown and Ramzan. Besides,ration was also provided to poorwidows and disabled persons whorece ive monthly grants . TheWarangal branch is immenselygrateful to the donors who assistedin these services.

Through the Nagpur branch ofSafa Baitul Maal, assistance ofRs. 17 00 0 wa s p r ov id ed fo rtreatment to 7 poor patients duringthe months of March and April.Rs.2000 was given to a needy


p e r s o n . R a t i o n k i t s w o r t hRs.37000 were distributed to 27deserving households.

Welfare services ofShimoga branch

Through the Shimoga branch ofSafa Baitul Maal, on the occasionof Ramzan, 150 Ramzan rationkits worth 1.8 lakh rupees wered i s t r i b u t e d t o d e s e r v i n ghouseholds. Likewise, on theoccasion of Eid-ul-Fitr, 100 Eidk i t s w o r t h Rs . 3 0 0 0 0 w e r edistributed. Monthly grants weredistributed to deserving widowsand disabled persons.

Through the Peddapalli branchof Safa Baitul Maal, monthlygrants of Rs.1200 distributed to 4poor widows. 25 kg rice each wasd i s t r ib u t e d t o t e a c he r s insurrounding villages in associationwith Hira Foundation. Assistanceof Rs.1000 was provided to a poorsick woman. During Ramzan, 20Ramzan kits and 20 Eid kits weredistributed.

Through the Pune branch ofSafa Baitul Maal, 400 ration kitswere distr ibuted to deservingho u se h o ld s . Rs . 1 4 0 0 0 w a s

provided to 7 poor deservingpersons.

Welfare services ofGulbarga branch

Through the Gulbarga branchof Safa Baitul Maal, monthlygrants of Rs.500 each totallingRs.10000 were distributed to 20deserving widows. Rs.1000 eachwas provided to 2 households withmore than one disabled person. Inview of lockdown and Ramzan,2000 ration kits were supplied todeserving poor households. Likeearlier, this year too, 100 Eid kitswere distributed. Besides, 25 kg ofrice each was distributed to 100religious servers. May Allah acceptthe services of the volunteers andthe contributions of the donors.

Through the Shivpuri branch ofSafa Baitul Maal, for fifty daysduring the lockdown, ration kitsworth Rs.700 were suppliedregu lar ly to abou t 350 poordeserving households. Likewise,fruits, water and essentials weredistributed for 8 days to travellinglabourers.

Welfare services of Hubli branch

The Hubli branch of Safa BaitulMaal was inaugurated on 5thJanuary 2020. Poor assistance andmedical camps for needy patientshave been arranged by the branch.B e s i d e s , r a t i o n k i t s w e r edistributed to poor households. Amedical camp was held in JPNagar through which eye testingof 60 students was done andspectacles were provided to 12students. Two more students werereferred to the hospital for bettert r e a t m e n t a n d f i n a n c i a lresponsibility for the same was

borne. Rs.1000 was provided to 15widows. A person who lost hislivelihood due to the lockdownwa s p ro vide d a s sis t ance o fRs.20000 to restart his business. Itis prayed to Allah to grant strengthfor more services.

Through the Jalna branch ofSafa Baitul Maal, 350 ration kitsw e r e d i s t r i b u t e d t o p o o rhouseholds during the secondweek of lockdown. This apart, 490ration kits were distributed duringRamzan. Rs.4000 was provided to2 patients. Assistance of Rs.1200was provided to 2 helpless women.Rs.300 each totalling Rs.6600 wasdistributed to 22 poor widows anddisabled persons.

Daily Treatment of various poor patients in Safa Mobile Clinic Camps

Nearly Rs. 5,00,000/- are spent on medicines. Appeal forcontribution under Safa Baitul Maal. Daily medicalcamps are conducted and nearly 200 poor patients istreated and are given medicines free of cost Rs. 5,00,000.We appeal well-wishers to contribute
