Welcome from the Dean
Yours sincerely,
Prof. Dr. Hashim bin Saim
Dean, Faculty of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (FKEE)
I would like to express my warmest welcome to all of you, the newly-registered students to our faculty. Congratulations as all of you have been
the chosen one to fill in the two programmes offered by FKEE which are
either the Bachelor in Electrical Engineering (BEV) or Electronic Engineering (BEJ), both with Honours.
I believe this faculty will be your first stepping stone towards achieving your
dreams and goals in life. Therefore, I would like to invite all of you to join me, hand in hand, to fulfill our faculty vision to be the leading centre in the
generation and applications of electrical and electronic engineering
knowledge. However, in order for us to achieve the vision, the first important mission for the faculty is to be able to produce dynamic, creative and ethical
graduates - which I hope all of you would be achieving in years to come.
FKEE or UTHM in general, provides a lot of opportunities for the students to
nurture and develop their soft skills from the establishment of numerous
clubs and societies on campus. Thus, I strongly encourage you to participate in those activities as it can also enhance your Graduate Employability (GE)
rate.
For your information, FKEE is now gaining popularity among the higher education institutions in Malaysia. Our faculty has been highlighted for
several times in the press on the successful implementation of ‘IoT Farming’
which involves FKEE students in the PERWIRA residential college. The tri-umphant achievement of our students in the Innovate Malaysia Design Com-
petition (IMDC 2017) are something to be proud of too. In addition to IMDC,
there are also other innovation and invention competitions such as ITEX, IDRIS and MTE - that our students took part and scored top places.
Last but not least, it is my sincerest hope that all of you will continue with your hard work and dedication towards achieving your goals and ambitions.
Your Transformation Begins Here!
