• Go to submenu File - Import and select all the video files you want to insert to your new movie ( *.mov, *.avi, *.mpeg e.t.c ).

• You can now see them in the Project Window

• You can import also, still images, audio files, title files or anything else you want to include to your final movie

• It is now time to drag and drop your videos to the timeline window in the order you want to be in your final movie. That is called the montage.

• If you want to cut a part of a video clip, click on the razor in the upper right corner of timeline window and click at the point of the video you want to cut . Don’t forget !! Click again at the arrow at the upper right corner of the timeline. You can now select the unwanted part of the video and delete it.

• If you want to add audio you must drag the audio file to the Audio channel of the Timeline window

• Transitions will make gentlier the passing from the one video clip to the other. So, don’t be afraid to experiment.

Open menu WINDOW - Show TRANSITIONS, select one transition, for example Cross dissolve and drag and drop it the the edge

of the two video clips. NOTICE ! Transitions should only be drop at the union of a video clip with another, otherwise the transition has no meaning.

• In order to see the transitions you have entered there are 2 ways :

1. Temporary : Press alt + Drag the needle in the timeline window 2. Permenent : Click in the Submenu Timeline Preview. This procedure takes time so, it must better be done when you have inserted all the transitions and effect you want and you think you are ready with your movie

• Adding effect to your movie is really what editing digital video is all about.

• Open menu WINDOW - Show Effect ( or if you already have the transtions window open just click the effect tag )

select one effect, for example Stylize - Replicate and drag and drop it on the video clip you have chosen. This particular effect splits your movie to as many windows as you want.

You should be aware : When you want to change or remove an effect open Window -- > Effect Controls
