With an audience 59 percent female and half under the age of 25, “Diver-gent” lured young moviegoers with another film targeting teenage girls with dystopian drama and an upcoming star. “Divergent,” though, fell well short of its forerunners: “Twilight” opened with $69.6 million in 2008, and “The Hunger Games” began with $152.5 million in 2012.

Richie Fay, president of domestic distribution for Lionsgate, called it “a great beginning for another franchise for the company.” A sequel is already in the works.

“The key to the success of these franchises is finding the difference and marketing it,” said Fay. “It’s not easy. And I think we’re doing it better than anyone else right now, frankly.”

In the rush to adapt popular young-adult fiction, Lionsgate has succeeded where many others have floundered. “Divergent,” made with a budget of $85 million from Veronica Roth’s best-sellers, follows less stellar results from

youth-focused films like “The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones,” ‘’Vampire Academy” and “Beautiful Creatures.”

Paul Dergarabedian, senior media analyst for box-office tracker Rentrak, calls the “Divergent” debut a “three-peat” for Lionsgate in a challenging genre that defies “cookie-cutter, assem-bly line” development. “They make it look easy,” says Dergarabedian. “You’re chasing probably the most fickle audi-ence in the world. They can change their minds on what’s cool in the blink of an eye.”

Disney’s Muppets sequel “Muppets Most Wanted,” with Ricky Gervais and Tina Fey, fared poorly, earning just $16.5 million over the weekend. “The Muppets,” opened notably better with $29.2 million in 2011, benefiting from the high-profile reboot starring and co-written by Jason Segal.

Dave Hollis, head of distribution for Disney, acknowledged the result was disappointing and somewhat “head-scratching” considering advance tracking had suggested “Muppets Most Wanted” would draw bigger crowds.

When new moon is used then the celebration always happens on new moon or full moon. The day of course can differ the religious celebration of a temple lasts at least one full day with some temple celebrating for three days while the celebration of Besakih temple, the Mother Temple, is never less than 7 days and most of the time it lasts for 11 days, depending on the importance of the occasion.

The celebration is very colorful. In front of shrine are placed red, white or black umbrellas depending which Gods are worshipped in the shrines.

In front of important shrine one sees, besides these umbrellas soars, tridents and other weapons, the “umbul-umbul”, long flags, all these are prerogatives or attributes of Holiness. In front of the Temple gate put up “Penjor”, long bamboo poles, decorated beautifully ornaments of young coconut leaves, rice and other products of the land. Most beautiful to see are the girls in their colorful attire, carrying offerings, arrangements of all kinds fruits and colored cakes, to the Temple. Bali PostNEGARA - After hit by strong winds on

Wednesday afternoon (Mar 19), the debris of resting pavilion of Puseh Temple of Ye-hembang has been cleared. The customary village plans to start rebuilding the pavilion after the Nyepi Day, when the disbursement of assistance from the Red Cross (PMI) has been made. Community leaders and local residents hoped the relief fund from the county and pro-vincial government could soon be disbursed so the development could be done.

Such expectation was expressed by a num-ber of residents on Sunday (Mar 23). Head-man of Yehembang, Gede Ngurah Aryana, said that one day after the collapse, the debris had been cleaned with the help of military and municipal police personnel. Then, residents planned to organize pecaruan sapuh au, dur-manggala and guru piduka ritual on Wednes-day (Mar 26). Local residents highly expected that they could rebuild the resting pavilion. Customary village also expected there would be assistance from local and provincial gov-ernment. “The disbursed assistance from the Indonesian Red Cross is worth IDR 5 million and this will be used for the redevelopment to be worked on after Nyepi,” he said.

In addition, it was also mentioned there would be assistance from county and pro-vincial government through the Regional Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD). His party hoped the assistance could be disbursed immediately and the development could be made as soon as possible.

A legislator of the Bali House doubling as community leader of Yehembang, Ida Bagus Ketut Birawa, amidst his meeting with resi-dents last Sunday said that people expected the building in the middle courtyard of the Puseh Temple could soon be rebuilt. Local and provincial government through the BPBD had the relief budget for the disaster. Other than at Yehembang, the Dalem Temple of Yehembang Kangin was also affected by the strong winds where two shrines in the inner-most courtyard (uttama mandala) collapsed.

“We will escort in order this assistance can be immediately materialized after the elec-tion, so it can be rebuilt and it is the people’s expectations,” he said.

At the moment, condition of the resting pavilion in the Puseh Temple only left the foundation. Meanwhile, the collapsed roof and wooden poles have been cleaned up by residents. Previously, the temple courtyard scattered with building debris has been cleaned up on Sunday. (kmb26)

“We from the Indonesian Farmers Union (HKTI) of Ba-dung through the results of branch conference in 2010 have recommended so as local govern-ment could allocate the regional budget at least 10 percent. How-ever, so far the allocation is only 2.7 percent,” said Secretary of the HKTI Badung, I Ketut Sugiana.

Besides, Sugiana also af-firmed that the subak also posed the manifestation of Tri Hita Karana (balance) concept and belonged to the cosmology sys-tem of Bali where the majority of communities were Hindu. Imple-mentation of the Tri Hita Karana concept was also proved to have created amazing landscapes with high cultural values.

In the subak system, there was a model of social cooperation in managing water. The streams created from volcanic mountain stream were not changed, but the flow was arranged to meet the needs of rice field. Therefore, in case of violation, the penalty im-posed was implemented through payment of cash fines as well as the obligation to perform particu-lar ceremony.

“I hope the government, intel-lectuals and political leaders to build a shared awareness about the nature of subak. It is nonsense to rescue the subak when the farmers are still living below the standards,” he said.

In addition, the government collected tax from agricultural land in order to get greater tax

revenues. Meanwhile, the cost of agricultural production tended to increase, the transfer of tech-nology could not be reached by farmers, access to capital pro-viders was weak and so was the access to policy. Then, it was also compounded by unclear market policies. These conditions made their life increasingly impover-ished so in terms of economic aspect the subak was considered inefficient.

According to Sugiana, the factors causing the poverty of farmers should be resolved by finding a solution through gov-ernment policy.

“The Law No.28/2009 on Re-gional Taxes and Levies, among other things, regulates that the lands exempted from tax object

are the lands having social func-tion, preservation of tradition and culture and not looking for profits. On that basis, the county and municipal government in Bali should be willing and even obliged to exempt the farmland organized in subak from land and property tax,” said the legislative candidate of the Badung House.

In terms of production dimen-sion, he added, the government should strengthen the farmers in terms of the access to technol-ogy and capital as well as put them in a stronger bargaining position in the field of market-ing. The Law No. 19/2013 on the protection and empower-ment of farmers had set forth the obligations of the government in protecting and empowering farmers. All the parties, espe-cially the government, should consistently work so that the vivacity and spirit of the law could be implemented to better the life of farmers. (ded)

BADUNG - Subak as one of the indigenous social systems in Bali specializing in the matter of paddy field irrigation system must be preserved. To back up farmers in order they are not easily tempted to sell their land, the Badung government is asked to allocate the regional budget as much as 10 percent for the agriculture.

“The polar bear is us,” says Patri-cia Romero Lankao of the federally financed National Center for Atmo-spheric Research in Boulder, Colo-rado, referring to the first species to be listed as threatened by global warming due to melting sea ice.

She will be among the more than 60 scientists in Japan to finish writing a massive and authoritative report on the impacts of global warming. With representatives from about 100 gov-ernments at this week’s meeting of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, they’ll wrap up a summary that tells world leaders how bad the problem is.

The key message from leaked drafts and interviews with the authors and other scientists: The big risks and overall effects of global warming are far more immediate and local than sci-entists once thought. It’s not just about melting ice, threatened animals and plants. It’s about the human problems of hunger, disease, drought, flooding, refugees and war, becoming worse.

The report says scientists have already observed many changes from warming, such as an increase

in heat waves in North America, Eu-rope, Africa and Asia. Severe floods, such as the one that displaced 90,000 people in Mozambique in 2008, are now more common in Africa and Australia. Europe and North America are getting more intense downpours that can be damaging. Melting ice in the Arctic is not only affecting the polar bear, but already changing the culture and livelihoods of indigenous people in northern Canada.

Past panel reports have been ignored because global warming’s effects seemed too distant in time and location, says Pennsylvania State University scientist Michael Mann. This report finds “It’s not far-off in the future and it’s not exotic creatures — it’s us and now,” says Mann, who didn’t work on this latest report.

The United Nations established the climate change panel in 1988 and its work is done by three groups. One looks at the science behind global warming. The group meeting in Japan beginning Tuesday studies its impacts. And a third looks at ways to slow warming.

NEW YORK — The dinosaurs are ready to roar across America again — but they’re sporting a new look. “Walking with Dinosaurs, the Arena Spectacular” is coming back to the U.S. and Canada — its first visit to North America since its inaugural 2007 tour — and many of its life-like puppets will be wearing downy feathers. “We’ve decided to bring them up to date,” said the show’s self-described “resident dino geek” Philip Millar. “I’ve been going on about feathers for some years now. And now we’ve finally taken the leap and we’re applying the feathers to the dinosaurs we’re fairly confident had feathers.”

Recent discoveries by paleontolo-gist point to the possibility that a large number of non-avian dinosaurs had feathers or something similar — pa-

leontologists call it “dinofuzz” — as part of their body covering, blurring the distinction between dinosaurlike birds and birdlike dinosaurs.

The show, based on an award-winning BBC Television series, trav-els 200 million years from Triassic to the Jurassic and Cretaceous periods, features 20 life-size dinosaurs from 10 species, including a mother Tyran-nosaurus Rex and her baby, both of which will now have feathers.

Miller said the new feathered creatures may be a shock to some in the audience. He notes that the fero-cious T-rex is more closely related in time and anatomy to a sparrow than a Stegosaurs. “People’s popular ideas tend not to keep up with the science, so you’ll find some people tend to draw T-Rexes at a 45-degree angle or they talk about Brontosaurs in a swamp and things like that. The science has moved on.”

Top climate scientists are gathering in Japan this week to finish up a report on the impact of global warming. And they say if you think climate change is only faced by some far-off polar bear decades from now, well, you’re mistaken. In fact, they will say, the dangers of a warming Earth are immediate and very human.

AntaraDENPASAR - The number

of Chinese tourist arrivals in Bali in January 2014 reached 52,060, a sharp increase of 80.52 percent from 28,839 in January 2013.

Chinese tourists in Bali were the second largest in number after Australians last year, the Bali tourism office

had announced recently.Last year, a total of 387,533

Chinese tourists visited Bali, up 24.65 percent from 310,904 in the previous year (2012).

“China is a potential mar-ket for Indonesia’s tourism industry, in particular with Bali as the main destination,” Dewa Nyoman Putra, a Bali tourism observer, stated.

He encouraged the Indone-sian government to intensify tourism promotion activities in China to attract more Chinese tourists to visit the country.

“I am glad when I heard that Indonesian flag carrier Garuda Airways recognizes China as a potential market,” he added.

In 2013, at least 76 mil-

lion Chinese people traveled overseas as tourists. This year, the number is expected to increase to 100 million, he explained.

China’s economic growth, which has been developing rap-idly, has encouraged its people to travel abroad. This opportu-nity should be used optimally by Bali, he pointed out.

According to Prof. Dr. IB Raka Suardana, the Secretary of the Indonesian Economists Association (ISEI) of Bali Chapter, the increase in revenue of tourism businesspeople would certainly add the tax paid to the government, including the provincial, county and municipal government. However, had the revenue from tourism sector been returned proportionately to the public? For example, the income from hotel and restaurant tax (PHR) received by Badung County amounted to IDR 2.2 trillion, had it been distributed proportionally to customary villages, farmers and others especially those who had maintained and preserved Balinese culture and Balinese agriculture denoting the icon of Bali tourism?

“Perhaps, each local government has been doing it. The provincial, county government or municipal government provided the funds each year for customary village, subak and cultural communities. However, the proportion may still need increasing. Why does it need increasing? Because they have maintained the Balinese culture and agriculture,” said IB Raka Suardana in Denpasar.

He added the revenue of hotel and restaurant tax was used for more other purposes, so it was considered the government had no sense of justice in the distribution. “Try to check in each local government in Bali, how much revenue obtained from the hotel and restaurant tax is returned to them (agency/institution) that have maintained the culture and agriculture of Bali?” he asked.

He said the quite large cost of making the ogoh-ogoh, even reaching tens of millions, posed an excessive creativity though it was associated with tourist attraction wrapped in culture. It was kindled by the competition among the communities or customary village or among the youths. “In my opinion, such less fair com-petition will kindle the poor habit for the real Balinese culture that in past times preferred the simple symbols in each ceremony,” he said.

Nevertheless, it had to be recognized that in harmony with the passage of time, the hedo-nism capitalism and globalism had influenced the behavior of Balinese people, especially the younger generation.

He explained the ogoh-ogoh tradition at the night of Pengerupukan posed an activity that had just proliferated around the year 1980s. Even, previously only a few villages in Bali that implemented the ogoh-ogoh to jazz up the Pengerupukan.

“And that ogoh-ogoh is of small size because it is only used to symbolize bhuta kala. However, with the economic development of the com-munity accompanied with the creativity of the youth, the ogoh-ogoh tradition is progressively growing. Even, I think it too excessive,” he explained. (par)

A team of government officials will be posted at the base camp located at 5,300 meters (17,380 feet) throughout the spring climb-ing season to monitor climbers and coordinate with expedition leaders, he said. The move follows years of criticism that Nepal has done little to manage the grow-ing number of Everest climbers despite making millions of dollars in fees.

A nine-member government team will set up its own tent at the base camp to report on the activities there, provide help when needed and ensure that climbers are cleaning up behind them. They would also be able to stop any trouble, like last year’s brawl be-tween three foreign climbers and local Sherpa guides. The officials would include security person-nel and would have the power to scrap the climbing permit and even order the climbers to leave the mountain.

Sapkota said the plan is to man-age the flow of climbers working

with expedition teams during the two or three opportunities in May when the weather is favorable for the climb above the South Col at 8,000 meters (26,240 feet). Climb-ers refer to it as the “death zone” because of the hostile conditions and little chance of rescue.

The separate ropes would al-low the climbers returning from the summit to quickly get back to lower grounds to rest while they would not be blocking fel-low climbers on the way to the summit.

More than 800 climbers at-tempted to scale Everest during the 2013 spring season and the number is expected to be similar this year too, according to the Mountaineering Department.

More than 4,000 climbers have scaled the 8,850-meter (29,035-foot) summit since 1953, when it was first conquered by New Zealand climber Edmund Hil-lary and Sherpa Tenzing Norgay. Hundreds of others have died in the attempt.

KIEV, Ukraine — Ukraine’s fledgling government ordered troops to withdraw from Crimea on Monday, ending days of wavering as Russian troops consolidate control over the peninsula. Russian forces have been systematically seizing Ukrainian ships and military installations in Crimea, including a naval base near the eastern Crimean port of Feodosia, where two wounded servicemen were taken captive on Monday and as many as 80 were detained on-site, Ukrainian officials said.

With the storming of at least three military facilities over the past three days alone, it wasn’t clear how many Ukrai-nian troops remained on the peninsula. Acting President Oleksandr Turchnynov said the Defense Ministry was instructed to redeploy all servicemen in Crimea to Ukraine’s mainland, in remarks confirmed by his office.

The situation in Ukraine is set to dominate U.S. President Barack Obama’s

agenda as he begins a week of international travel in the Netherlands, where is set to attend a nuclear security summit. The two-day summit has been expected to be the focus of Obama’s visit, but the event will now be overshadowed by hurriedly sched-uled talks on Ukraine among the Group of Seven industrialized economies — the U.S., Britain, Canada, France, Germany, Italy and Japan.

Speaking to leading lawmakers in the Ukrainian capital, Kiev, Turchnynov said Ukrainian troops would be evacuated with their families amid unspecified threats from what he termed occupying Russian forces. Over the weekend, Russian forces stormed the Belbek air force base near Sevastopol and detained the commander.

The interim government in Kiev has been criticized for its indecision over Ukrainian troops in Crimea. Russia completed its annexation of Crimea last week, after its troops took control over the Ukrainian region following the ouster of a Kremlin-friendly government in Kiev.

KATMANDU, Nepal — Nepal plans to minimize the congestion of climbers near the 8,850-meter (29,035-foot) summit of Mount Everest, which gets clogged with scores of climbers during the short window of good weather, officials said Monday. One of the initia-tives includes the introduction of separate fixed ropes for climbers ascending and descending near the summit to help ease the traffic, said Tourism Ministry official Mohan Krishna Sapkota.

SEMARAPURA - Heavy rains from the night until Thursday morn-ing (Mar 20) caused the sidewalks at Paksebali village, Dawan subdis-trict, Klungkung, to be damaged. It happened because the culvert was unable to resist the large volume of rainwater. Such large volume of rainwater was compounded with garbage hampering the flow of wa-ter. As a result, the sidewalks turned damaged.

As observation made at location,

the sidewalk collapsed along about ten meters. As a result, the local road was inundated by floods and overrun with piles of rubbish. Such condition could be found in front of the SDN 1 Paksebali primary school. Local residents had attempted to clean up the rubbish from the gutter so as to prevent the water from overflowing onto the road. Local headman, Putu Ariadi, also looked to get involved in cleaning the rubbish piling up. “The rain is quite heavy and the culvert clogged so it destroyed the sidewalks,” he said at the location.

He also admitted the road in front of the SDN 1 Paksebali was often hit by floods. However, his party could not do much because people’s habit to dispose trash into the gutter had never changed.

He asked that such a bad habit should be immediately changed. If the habit persisted, the remaining sidewalks would also be destroyed because the area had become the regular target of floods every heavy rain. “Do not dispose rubbish any longer into the gutter. When rain-ing, it can be ascertained to kindle

floods. Besides, more sidewalks will be damaged,” he said. The newly elected headman on December 15 scheduled to be inaugurated on March 25 promised to urge back his residents not to litter. He admitted to have no landfill at the village. Thus, the waste problem was quite serious for the local and surrounding areas.

Principal of the SDN 1 Paksebali, Umar T. Haeni, said the threat of an-nual flooding at the village was quite alarming. Nevertheless, his party also claimed to be unable to do much because rubbish matter required the

awareness of all the elements of the surrounding community.

He claimed that his school had been regularly flooding when it rained. His party asked the local gov-ernment, particularly the Klungkung Public Works, to promptly repair the sidewalks with stronger material from the onslaught of rainwater and asked the public awareness of the hazards of trash during rainy season. “The main problem is the people’s habit disposing trash into the gutter. Do not make the sidewalk a littering place,” he affirmed. (kmb31)

One of the Kintamanian residents dou-bling as tourism businessman, Jro Saba, said that he often read the comments regarding the people’s apprehensiveness against the condition of Penelokan tourism region. Even, in one of the Facebook ac-counts he commented upon also contained a photograph showing that Penelokan area looked shabby due to plastic waste strewn after the traders peddled along the road. “Dirty condition of Penelokan because of being functioned as market by people has

been continuing at issue on Facebook since this week. It is very unfortunate,” he said, Sunday (Mar 23).

According to him, what people revealed in one of the Facebook accounts uploaded with photo was a kind of public concern against the Penelokan tourism at this mo-ment. However, the people giving com-ments on the social network were confused how to improve it.

He hoped the Bangli government through its relevant institutions could re-arrange

the look of Penelokan region so that it could provide clean and beautiful view. As recognized all this time, Penelokan tourist area was one of the leading attractions in Bangli expected to generate revenue. So, the concerns arising in social media should not be allowed to kindle another complaint from foreign travelers who wanted to visit or had previously visited Penelokan.

“Sanitation is important. By all means, travelers will complain when they see dirty environment, let alone see rubbish. Kintamanian community should have high awareness to improve Kintamani. Starting from a small matter such as rubbish should also become our concern, not only that of the government as well as the community. In essence, all parties should pay attention to this matter,” he hoped. (ina)

BANGLI - Increasing public awareness of Bangli to administer their population adminis-tration in the Bangli Population and Civil Reg-istry Office is not coupled with the availability of adequate parking space. As a result, the people coming for the administration purposes are forced to park along the roadside. Even, they park on the sidewalk that should be used for pedestrians. Definitely it causes the impres-sion of Bangli town to look chaotic whereas it is currently preparing itself to compete in the Adipura sanitation award.

Based on observation of Bali Post on Friday morning (Mar 21), dozens of motorcycles fell in irregular line in front of the Bangli Population and Civil Registry Office. Other than the roadside filled with motorcycles and cars, the sidewalks that should be earmarked for pedestrian was also filled with a number of motorcycles. It happened because the Population and Civil Registry Office itself did not provide parking space as any other offices in general. Thus, such chaotic spectacle had taken place since the past few months.

Even though such condition had clearly made the face of Bangli town look chaotic, so far the Bangli government had not attempted to find a way out for the parking problem. Apparently the government was unable to do much considering many office areas used to serve public interests were also in limited and inadequate condition.

Meanwhile, when asking for the confirma-tion to the Head of Population and Civil Reg-istry Office, Dewa Suparta, he did not dismiss the condition. He acknowledged that his office did not have adequate parking space. So, people coming to the office inevitably parked their vehicles on the roadside in front of the office.

In the meantime, especially for the em-ployees and staff of the Population and Civil Registry Office were directed to commend their motorcycle at the parking space owned by the Bangli Military District Command Headquar-ters, whose location happened to be across the office. “In order not to add the crowds, our employees and staff are borrowing the park-ing space of the Military District Command,” he added. Penelokan becomes issue in social media

BANGLI - All this time, the Penelokan tourism area in Kintamani is often criti-cized by many parties. Having been transformed into instant market by traders who previously peddled in the area of Volcano Museum, the Penelokan region now looks shabby and poorly arranged. Other than criticized by tourism observers, the shabbiness of Penelokan due to plastic waste strewn was also at issue in social networking like Facebook.

DENPASAR - By Nyepi celebra-tion, most Hindu devotees in Bali organize Melis, Mekiyis or Melasti procession. It is performed by the majority of Hindus and not entirely because the tradition of Mekiyis or Melis itself is not implemented si-multaneously. Everything is tailored to the local tradition flourishing in their respective region.

For example, Hindu devotees living in the southern region of Bali such as Badung, Denpasar and Gianyar execute the Melasti proces-sion 3 days before Nyepi. From the morning until late afternoon, it can be ascertained that beaches in the three regions will be thronged by thousands of Hindu devotees who escort their respective venerated deities.

According to I Ketut Wiana, so far among the Hindus there was an understanding that interpreted the Melasti solely as bathing sanctified effigies or ritual paraphernalia. As a matter of fact, added Wiana, as a series of Nyepi festivity, Melasti had a very broad and profound meaning.

In the Aji Swamandala palm-leaf manuscript is mentioned that Melasti ngarania ngiring prawatek Dewata anganyutaken laraning jagat, papa klesa, letuhing Bhu-wana. This quotation means that the Melasti procession is meant to wash away the suffering of people (laraning jagat) as well as to get rid of suffering (papa klesa) and impurities of the universe (letuhing bhuwana). It is realized by carrying and escorting the sacred symbols to the sources of water such as sea, river or lake.

Meanwhile, the Sunarigama palm-leaf manuscript mentions that the purpose of Melasti is amet sarining amertha kamandalu ring telenging

segara meaning to take the essence of life in the middle of ocean.

Melasti procession is conducted by a group of devotees who have clan or group temple. Sacred sym-bols such as pratima or sanctified effigies as manifestation of the venerated deities in the respective temple are gathered and settled in the pavilion of Bale Agung temple of customary village concerned.

At the specified time, Melasti is carried out in a parade or in Bali it is called mapeed where all sancti-fied symbols are carried to water sources such as sea, river or lake. Peak of the Melasti procession is held at those springs. In essence, it means to pay devotion or bhakti

to God in his manifestation as the Lord Varuna. In the meantime, the end of such procession is marked by invoking holy water as a sym-bol of Amerta Kamandalu holy water obtained in the ocean. It is the essence of Melasti procession having more profound significance to direct people to always develop their desires based on sublime heart. Everything is inseparable from the presence of Kamandalu as holy water to meet the noble wishes.

As a matter of fact, Mapeed in Melasti procession itself has its own significance, namely spiritually cleanse the village environment. This purification is executed by presenting pratima and other sacred symbols.

The presence of pratima is believed to bring spiritual vibrations to the surrounding devotees. Related to this issue, probably there is an interesting phenomenon occurring within the past few years on several customary villages where mapeed tradition in relation to Melasti is no longer held. To reach the beach as destination of Melasti, devotees escorting their ven-erated deities have used trucks. Various reasons are given behind this change in tradition. It ranges from the reason that beach destination of Melasti is far enough if covered on foot to the reason of traffic congestion caused by the mapeed procession.

One day after the Melasti is called Nyejer where a number of

pratima representing the deities as manifestation of Ida Sanghyang Wi-dhi Wasa or Supreme God abide in the Bale Agung, Village Temple or respective temple. The word Nyejer is derived from the jejer in Balinese language meaning ‘standstill and unshakable.’ In this Nyejer series, the devotees are actually taught to build a formidable sradha (belief) and bhakti (devotion) or strong belief in God. With a strong sense of divinity, human will be given the power to control their daily life that is often approached by various temptations. If belief in God could have been upheld and well maintained, all temptations can be overcome well and properly.

“The President has never given him an appreciation (money) as an expression of thanks,” Julian said here on Sunday.

Apart from that, Julian said, it was also inappropriate for the

president if he gave the apprecia-tion to Anas on ground that he was successful to bring victory to the Democratic Party (PD) in the 2009 general elections.

“The victory made by the party

at that time was a result of the col-lective work of all sides, including the party’s constituents and the people,” he said.

He said the Anas Urbaningrum’s lawyer’s statement was gravely deplorable and groundless.

On Friday, Anas’s lawyer Urban-ingrum Wijaya said that the down-payment of the Toyota Harrier of his client came from President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono.

The Toyota Harrier was sus-

pected to have been given to Anas Urbaningrum as a gift to smooth the process of the Hambalang sport complex project.

“The down-payment of the car came from SBY (Susi lo Bambang Yudhoyono),” Firman said at the Corruption Eradica-t ion Commiss ion (KPK) on Friday.

Firman said that the car was given as an expression of thanks to Anas because he had been fighting

for the victory of the Democratic Party.

“Based on facts, the(car) was given as a gift after (Anas) was working hard to bring victory to (the Democratic Party) in the general elections,” Firman said.

“The down-payment was given in cash,” he added.

The KPK has confiscated a Toyota Harrier from Anas which was believed as a gift linked to the Hambalang project.

SHANGHAI - China’s central bank hinted Sunday that it was will-ing to accept some debt defaults in the $1.8 trillion wealth management market, as the world’s second-largest economy struggles to curb bad debts that pose a risk to the financial sys-tem.

“Under the premise of prevent-ing systematic risks, allowing some default cases to happen naturally in compliance with market forces will... help rectify behaviours of product issuers and investors and benefit the healthy development of the wealth management market,” People’s Bank of China deputy gov-ernor Pan Gongsheng said at a forum in Shanghai.

Pan’s remarks echoed those by Premier Li Keqiang earlier this month after the country’s first-ever default on a domestic corporate bond sparked concerns that other firms could fol-low suit.

Li said authorities “pay very high attention” to financial and debt risks, but certain individual cases of such defaults were “hardly avoidable”.

China’s wealth management prod-uct market ballooned to 11 trillion yuan ($1.8 trillion) in early 2014 from two trillion yuan in 2011, Pan said.

“Guaranteed repayment... although it will ensure short-term stability, won’t help the market to effectively differentiate risks and will eventually lead to accumulated risks,” he said.

In early March, Shanghai-based Chaori Solar Energy Science & Technology Co said it was unable to make bond interest payments of 89.8 million yuan, sending it into a landmark default.

Earlier this year, the domestic financial market was gripped by wor-ries over other financial products is-sued by trust companies, which have drawn comparisons to the American “junk bonds” of the 1980s.

Authorities have in the past in-tervened to avoid default risks but are now more willing to accept such incidents, which may ultimately ben-efit the market by raising awareness of risk and making investors more selective, analysts have said.

The consensus of the 48 economists sur-veyed by the National Association for Business Economics is that bad weather cut first-quarter growth to a weak annual rate of 1.9 percent, but that growth could exceed 3 percent by year’s end. NABE’s report, released Monday, covered a survey period from Feb. 19 through March 5.

Their forecast for average U.S. economic growth of 2.8 percent this year is better than the 2.5 percent rate they predicted in NABE’s December survey. Those surveyed expect con-sumer spending to now increase 2.6 percent in 2014, not 2.4 percent, as hourly wage growth is forecast to rise faster than inflation. GDP is expected to grow an average 3.1 percent in 2015.

“Conditions in a variety of areas — in-cluding labor, consumer and housing markets — are expected to improve over the next two

years, while inflation remains tame,” NABE President Jack Kleinhenz, chief economist of the National Retail Federation, said in a statement.

Given the stronger growth forecast, 57 percent of the economists surveyed believe the Federal Reserve will end its bond purchases in the fourth quarter, as the central bank has sig-naled it plans to do. Another quarter think it will happen even before that, though 17 percent think the Fed will keep buying bonds into 2015.

The Fed has been buying bonds for the past several years with the aim of driving down long-term interest rates to stimulate spending and economic growth. Now that the economy is slowly but steadily improving, it has been tapering those purchases. At each of its last three policy meetings, including last week’s, the Fed cut bond purchases by $10 billion to

the current pace of $55 billion a month. There are six meetings left in 2014.

One-third of respondents said the Fed could even raise short-term interest rates this year, though more than half think it won’t happen until next year. Fed Chair Janet Yellen said Wednesday that with the job market still weak, the central bank intends to keep short-term rates near zero for a “considerable” time and would raise them only gradually. She also said the Fed wouldn’t be dictated solely by the unemployment rate, which Yellen feels overstates the health of the job market and the economy.

Yellen appeared to jolt investors last week when she tried to clarify the Fed’s timetable for raising the short-term rate. She suggested that the Fed could start six months after it halts its monthly bond purchases. That would mean the rate could rise by mid-2015. A short-term rate increase would elevate borrowing costs and could hurt stock prices. Stocks fell after Yellen’s mention of six months. The Dow Jones industrial average ended that day down more than 100 points.

Indonesia is scheduled to hold its parliamentary election on April 9 and presidential poll in July.

“Apdesi (association of All-Indonesia village administra-tion) should no longer use the term “lowest leaders”. Instead, it should use forefront leaders (to refer to village heads),” the President remarked, when open-ing a national working meeting and seminar of the association at the Jogja Expo Center (JEC) on Monday.

Village heads are forefront leaders like the president, gover-

nors, district heads and mayors in the country, he reiterated.

“The difference is that the president can be elected twice for five-year term of office each, while village heads can be elected three times for six-year term of office each,” he pointed out.

The President further recalled his experience when he, along with a number of ministers, vis-ited a village and met with local residents. He observed that the

“I came to the conclusion that if the nation wants to make prog-ress, not only provinces, districts and municipalities but also sub-districts and villages must make progress,” he emphasized.

The meeting and seminar themed “From Villages for In-donesia¿, brings together nearly three thousand participants from the central and provincial execu-tive boards of the association from all over Indonesia and village heads from Yogyakarta and Cen-tral Java provinces.

AntaraBENGKULU - Indonesia will send the Rafflesia Arnoldii flower

to an international flower festival to be held in South Korea in April 2014.

“Rafflesia Arnoldii flower has been selected to represent Indonesia in this year’s international flower festival in South Korea,” Bengkulu Governor Junaidi Hamsyah stated here on Monday.

Before being sent to South Korea, the world’s largest and rarest flower will be preserved by the Indonesian Institute of Sciences (LIPI) in cooperation with the Bengkulu research and development office.

Rafflesia is an endemic flower of Sumatra. Its habitats include rainforests in Central Bengkulu, Kepahiang and Kaur districts, Bengkulu province.

In 2013, Indonesia sent the Titan Arum (Amorphophallus titanum), also known as the corpse flower, to the South Korea flower festival. The rare, gigantic flower is also an endemic flower of Bengkulu.

The Bengkulu administration is currently making a map of the Rafflesia habitats in the province.

Rafflesia Arnoldii was found, for the first time, by Sir Thomas Stamford Raffles and British botanist Josepth Arnold in Bengkulu, in 1818.

BANTUL - President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono has stated that Indonesian village heads are not the lowest leaders but forefront leaders.

An Australian navy supply ship, the HMAS Success, was on the scene Monday night trying to locate and recover the objects, and Malaysia’s Defense Minister Hishammuddin Hussein said the vessel could reach them within a few hours or by Tuesday morning.

Separately, the crew aboard one of two Chinese IL-76 aircraft combing the search zone observed two large objects and several smaller ones spread across several square kilometers (miles), Xinhua News Agency reported. At least one of the items — a white, square-shaped object — was captured on a camera aboard the plane, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Hong Lei said. “We are still racing against

time,” Hong said at a ministry brief-ing. “As long as there is a glimmer of hope, our search efforts will carry on.”

China has redirected the ice-breaker Snow Dragon toward the latest find, and that ship was due to arrive early Tuesday. Six other Chinese ships have been directed toward the search zone along with 20 fishing vessels that have been asked to help, Lei said.

Relatives of passengers aboard the missing Boeing 777 were avidly following news reports of the latest sightings, desperate for any word on the fate of loved ones.

“We’re eager to learn more about this,” said Wang Zhen who is staying at a hotel near Beijing. His

father and mother, Wang Linshi and Xiong Yunming, were both aboard the flight as part of a group of Chi-nese artists touring Malaysia.

Satellite images and data re-leased by Australia, China and France in recent days have identi-fied possible debris in the area that may be linked to the disappearance of Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 on March 8 with 239 people on board — two-thirds of whom are Chinese.

The ocean depth in the search area ranges between 1,150 meters (3,770 feet) and 7,000 meters (23,000 feet), and the U.S. Pacific command said it was sending a black box locator in case a debris field is located.

LUCKNOW, India — India has called off its hunt for a man-eating tiger after six weeks with no reports of a new killing.

The tiger has killed at least nine people since late December, eluding a team of hunters in Uttar Pradesh state who set out on foot to kill the animal. A tiger killed a 10th person on Feb. 9, but forestry officials cannot confirm whether it was the same animal.

Wildlife Warden Rupak De said Monday that the hunt was called off ear-lier this month, but wildlife officials are still trying to track the animal using drones as well as 50 cameras installed in villages around the tiger reserve.

VIENNA — It was put on auction as the only camera that made it to the moon and back. And it had its price — nearly $760,000.

The Hasselblad 500 sold over the weekend is described by Vienna auctioneers Galerie Westlicht as part of the equipment carried by the 1971 Apollo 15 mission — and the only camera ever bought back from the moon. It says the others were left behind to make room for mineral samples.

Galerie Westlicht identifies the new owner as Japanese businessman Terukazu Fujisawa. It says the owner of an electronics chain placed his winning bid of 550,000 euros by phone. Bidding started Saturday at 80,000 euros — just over $110,000.

In one of the eight test pit boxes was found a human skull and grave provisions. The test pit box containing human skeleton was found right at the border between Labuan Nangga hamlet, Pangkungparuk village and Banjar Asem village, Seririt subdistrict.

The research team leader the Archaeological Institute of Denpasar, Luh Kade Cita Yuliadi, accompanied by three other researchers namely Dewa Kompyang, Anak Agung Gede Bagus and Luh Suwita Utama said at the excavation site that the preliminary results of the research could only con-clude that the location of research belonged to grave site of the carpenter period. The site was estimated to be a thousand years or a century Before Christ Era (BCE). The site was estimated to originate from the same age as the archaeological sites at Gilimanuk, Jembrana.

“From our research with the team, we can draw a preliminary conclu-sion that this grave site belongs to carpenter period. It is evident from the grave provisions and objects in the form of pottery starting to be used in the carpenter period as well as the pattern of burial having been carried out in the early Hindu tradition,” she said.

The Head of the Archaeological Institute of Denpasar for NTB and NTT Region, Made Gria, said the research made at the beginning to the end of this year would be resumed to investigate further about the objects found at Pangkungparuk. The research would be focused on the study of human skeletal burial age found, calendar system and several other technical aspects, especially concerning with the history of the sites that would be studied further. Results of this research were estimated to be completed as soon as possible because it involved foreign researchers.

“Some samples of the objects discovered are now being studied. We will soon know the results regarding the burial method, calendar system and other technical aspects,” she explained.

Meanwhile, the landowner, I Wayan Sudiarjana, said that since he found the sarcophagus in 2009 many people knew if his land belonged to a historic relic. Even, many Chinese-descent and Buddhist residents frequently made a visit to his home for worship and see the sarcophagus findings taken from the location of discovery. Not only that, local residents and people from outside Buleleng of Chinese-descent and Buddhist residents had already known if there was a sacred relic of human skeleton.

“Many people have known and I have been trying to arrange the place-ment. Hopefully, the result of research by the Archaeological Institute of Denpasar can provide more detailed explanation related to the history and its legacy, so that we can maintain and take care of it,” he added. (mud)

The drama started on the first lap, as Lorenzo leapt from fifth to the lead before Turn 1, and then set a blistering pace as he attempted to establish an early gap. Before one lap had been completed however his race was wrecked, as he lost the front at Turn 15 and crashed heavily into the gravel.

Bradley Smith inherited the lead, only to suffer his own wob-ble which allowed Stefan Bradl and polesitter Marc Marquez to slip by. The order swung once more when Iannone fell from fourth and then Bradl dropped his LCR Honda at Turn 6, allowing Marquez to hit the front. Rossi, though, picked off the Spaniard at Turn 15, in what was just the first of a sequence of attacks and coun-ters between the pair that lasted all the way until the flag.

After several aborted attempts, Marquez eventually reclaimed the lead at three-quarter distance, but he was unable to break Rossi and came under increasing pressure from the Italian. With two laps to go that climaxed as Rossi hit the front once more at Turn 4. Marquez responded in typically aggressive fashion, but was re-passed - and then fought back once more - over the final turns.

Rossi remained locked onto Marquez’s wheel throughout the final lap, but was unable to mount a serious attack and came home second, just 0.259s splitting the pair at the flag. Marquez’s vic-tory, which comes just six weeks after he broke his leg, gives him an early points lead in his 2014 title defence.

Pedrosa secured third, but only after another dramatic fall when Bautista - who made a poor start but was otherwise a permanent fixture at the front - fell at Turn 2 two laps from the finish. Smith, running a secure fifth, had slipped up at the same turn just three laps previously.

The attrition meant Aleix Es-pargaro was able to come through to finish fourth ahead of Andrea Dovizioso and Cal Crutchlow. 2013 Moto2 runner-up Scott Red-ding meanwhile just beat 2006 world champion Nicky Hayden to seventh.

NEW YORK — The New York Knicks gave up a 17-point, first-half lead and saw their eight-game winning streak halted by the Cleveland Cavaliers in a 106-100 defeat on Sunday that dealt a blow to their slim playoff chances. The Knicks wasted a chance to pull within two games of the Atlanta Hawks for the eighth and final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference before leaving for a five-game Western Conference trip on Tuesday. The Hawks lost earlier on Sunday to the Toronto Raptors 96-86.

“This was a huge opportunity lost, one we can’t afford,” Knicks guard J.R. Smith said. “But we can’t get it back. We’ve just got to go on the road, win some games and try to come back home and win.” Jarrett Jack scored a season-high 31 points for the Cavaliers, who are also chasing the Hawks, though they are 5½ games back.

Carmelo Anthony finished

with 32 points for the Knicks, but missed all five shots in the final period. In other games, the Phoenix Suns made up ground in the race for the seventh and eighth playoff spots in the tight Western Conference, topping the Minne-sota Timberwolves 127-120.

Markieff Morris scored 25 points off the bench to lead Phoe-nix to its biggest comeback of the season. Slovenian star Goran Dragic had 18. The Suns pull within a half-game of Memphis and Dallas for one of the last two playoff spots in the West.

Kevin Love had 36 points and 14 rebounds, but committed a crucial turnover in the final minute in yet another tough home loss for the Timberwolves. The Mavericks fell into the eighth spot in the West with a 107-104 overtime loss to the Brooklyn Nets.

Joe Johnson scored 22 points, including the tying layup in regu-lation and the go-ahead 3-pointer in overtime to lead Brooklyn past the Mavericks in Jason Kidd’s return to Dallas as a coach.

In a game that saw three pen-alties, a red card and a host of missed chances, Andres Iniesta set the tone by rocketing home an early opener, only for Karim Benzema’s brace to put the hosts ahead by the 24th. The teams went into the break level at 2-2 after Messi slotted in an equal-izer, only for Cristiano Ronaldo to re-establish Madrid’s lead with a 55th-minute penalty.

But Messi scored a pair of penalties after that — including the 65th-minute equalizer after Sergio Ramos was sent off — to end Madrid’s 31-game unbeaten run stretching back to the last “clasico” in October. “It’s unusual to see so many penalties called in a clasico,” Barcelona fullback Jordi Alba said. “This win will give us a lot of momentum going forward.”

While Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti tried to defuse tension surrounding the three penalties, Ronaldo did not. “I don’t want to say the referee favored one team more than the other, but he favored Barca a little more,” Ron-aldo said. Earlier, Diego Costa’s 23rd goal followed Gabi Fernan-dez’s opener as Atletico beat 10-man Real Betis 2-0 and now leads Madrid on head-to-head with the city rivals level on 70 points. Barcelona is on 69 points.

“Right up until the last game this league is wide open,” Ancelotti said. “Any of these last nine games can prove decisive.” The high pace of play and buzzing atmosphere inside the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium left little doubt this was a “clasico” with much at stake. Messi spotted Iniesta’s run down the left side seven minutes in and slid a perfect ball clear into the area for him to lift into the top of goal to kickstart the memorable match.

Madrid winger Angel Di Maria troubled right back Dani Alves throughout, especially when

he twice set up Benzema with crosses from the left side, with the France striker nodding home the first in the 20th before controlling the second to smash a right-footed volley beyond Victor Valdes. The goalkeeper got a glove to Benzema’s opener but couldn’t keep it out.

The strengths and philosophies of each club were apparent as Barcelona looked to set the tempo through possession while Madrid always looked dangerous when breaking on the counter. Madrid’s defense nodded off when Neymar and Messi’s hopeful combination came to fruition and the Argen-tina star could equalize before halftime, with Benzema left ru-ing a number of missed chances that could have given Madrid control.

Gareth Bale’s speed provided problems for Barcelona down the right, but Ronaldo was equally troublesome along the left and he was tripped by Dani Alves after the break to set up the penalty for his league-leading 26th goal that put Madrid back on top. However, replays showed the contact had taken place just outside the pen-alty area. But Barcelona replied when Ramos was shown a straight red for tangling with Neymar and Messi stepped to equalize again.

Benzema then came off as Madrid looked to defend the draw, with Barcelona patiently coming forward and Dani Alves sending a shot off the post in the 74th. Iniesta was then taken down by Xabi Alonso and Dani Carvajal in the area to set up the 84th-minute spot kick that Messi slotted home for his 21st goal of the season.

“You could say some of the de-cisions penalized us, but it doesn’t change anything,” Ancelotti said. “We’re not happy because we lost an important opportunity, but that’s OK. We just need an immediate reaction now.”

MILAN — Juventus maintained its charge to a third successive Serie A title as it won 1-0 at 10-man Catania in a fiery match in Serie A on Sunday. Carlos Tevez scored the only goal of the game to take him level with Torino striker Ciro Immobile at the top of the scoring charts.

Catania was forced to play with 10 men for much of the second half after Gonzalo Bergessio was dismissed following a second booking. Both coaches were also sent to the stands for protests during the first period. Ju-ventus restored its 14-point lead over Roma, which has a game in hand.

“I think the referee wanted to give a warning to the players, by sending off the managers and calming things down a bit,” Conte said. “The match was very heated and we were good to keep a cool head.

“I am very proud of the lads. We are playing at extraordinary levels, but we have to give credit to Roma, which is doing something incredible. So we have to stay awake because nothing is over and decided yet.”

Earlier, Fiorentina snatched a late 1-0 win at 10-man Napoli to boost its chances of sneaking into the Champions League. Inter Milan is four points further back after a last-minute goal consigned it to a 2-1 loss at home to Atalanta. Parma is level, but with a game in hand, after it drew 1-1 with Genoa in the lunchtime kickoff.

“It was the perfect day, seeing as we opened up a gap on those behind us and got closer to third spot,” Fiorentina coach Vincenzo Montella said. “It will be difficult to reach because Napoli is strong and has a big advantage. But we’ll try right until the end.”

Lazio is five points off a European spot after being held to a 1-1 draw by AC Milan. Hellas Verona’s European bid was dented again as it lost 5-0 at Sampdoria. Elsewhere, Udinese beat Sassuolo 1-0 and Bologna won a relegation fight against Cagliari by the same score.

Monaco’s Fabinho, up, congratulates Monaco’s Mounir Obbadi after scor-ing the first goal against Lille, during their French League One soccer match, in Monaco stadium, Sun-day, March 23, 2014.

Monaco draws 1-1 with Lille in Francebadi shot past goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama to put the hosts ahead in the fourth minute, but Lille forward Divock Origi leveled from close range after some fine work from Ryan Mendes in the 38th.

“We got off to a good start but

we didn’t manage to kill the game,” Monaco defender Nicolas Isimat-Mirin said. Lille stayed in third place, nine points behind Monaco. Elsewhere, fourth-place Saint-Eti-enne beat lowly Sochaux 3-1 to pull within three points of Lille while

Lyon kept pace with Saint-Etienne in the race for a European spot by defeating Guingamp 1-0.

At Stade Louis II, Monaco forward Valere Germain beat the offside trap to take a pass from Dimitar Berbatov and squared the ball back to an unmarked Obbadi, who scored with a low strike from 11 yards.

In a first half with very few chances, Lille replied with an ac-robatic volley from Idrissa Gueye that went straight into the arms of goalkeeper Danijel Subasic in the 32nd. Mendes finally cracked the Monaco defense six minutes later by playing a one-two with Salomon Kalou before slipping the ball to Origi, who fired into the bottom corner.

Lille nearly took the lead in the second half when Kalou played Jonathan Delaplace in but Subasic saved the chip from the Lille mid-

fielder in the 49th. Monaco also had an opportunity to score the winner in the 70th but Berbatov headed a corner over the bar.

“We could have troubled them more with a bit more boldness,” Lille coach Rene Girard said. “To come here and bring back a point from Monaco is a good result.”

In Saint-Etienne, Turkey forward Mevlut Erding headed in a cross from Yohan Mollo to open the scor-ing in the 46th minute, and the hosts doubled the lead in the 51st when winger Franck Tabanou converted a rebound after Sochaux goalkeeper Yohann Pele palmed away a volley from Renaud Cohade.

Sochaux substitute Edouard Butin pulled one back in the 66th by flicking home a low cross from Sebastien Corchia, but the visitors were reduced to 10 men in the 81st when striker Cedric Bakambu received a second yellow card for handling the ball while attempting to score. Erding converted a pass from Brazilian forward Brandao to seal the win in the 89th.

“For sure, scoring against Sochaux always bothers me because it’s the club where I grew up, it’s the club where I learned everything and where I have some good friends,” Erding said in the mixed zone. “I hope they will secure safety.”

Supporters shout slogans during a campaign rally of the National Awakening Party, led by Indonesian Manpower and Transmigration Minister Muhaimin Iskandar, in Jakarta, Indo-nesia, Monday, March 24, 2014.

He observed that the

life of the villagers including their houses, school and health facilities.

Village heads are forefront leadersAntara

PERTH, Australia — Chinese and Australian planes on Monday spotted several objects in an area identified by multiple satellite images as containing possible debris from the missing Malaysian airliner, boosting hopes the frustrating search in the southern Indian Ocean could turn up more clues to the jet’s fate. Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbott said the crew on board an Australian P3 Orion had located two objects in the search zone — the first grey or green and circular, the second orange and rectangular.

(mud)

Warming is big risk for peopleAssociated Press Writer

(par)

Because of this practically every few days a ceremony of festival of some kind takes place in some Village in Bali. There are also times when the entire island celebrated the same Holiday, such as at Galungan, Kuningan, Nyepi day, Saraswati day, Tumpek Landep day, Pagerwesi day, Tumpek Wayang day etc.

The dedication or inauguration day of a Temple is con-sidered its birth day and celebration always takes place on the same day if the wuku or 210 day calendar is used. When new moon is used then the celebration always happens on new moon or full moon.

(ded)

It is recorded that four sar-cophagi and eight test pits were discovered containing a human skeleton. In addition, in the exca-vation was also found a number

of grave provisions in the form of beads and kitchen appliances at that time. All the items were in the form of pottery made of clay.

Information gathered in the field

by Bali Post on Sunday (Mar 23) told that the initial discovery of the grave site from the carpenter period was revealed after the landowner I Wayan Sudiarjana built upon his 20-hectare heritage land in 2009. When he would like to dig a hole of septic tank was found a sarcophagus. The finding was then reported to the Archaeological Institute of Denpasar and immediately followed up with the archaeological object rescue efforts.

Before the finding, Sudiarjana

also found a sarcophagus around his house. These findings made the team more curious and do further research. As a result, one more sarcophagus and a grave without the container were found.

Based on the findings, the Na-tional Archaeological Center then tried to do a research in 2010, but it failed. At that time, the research team only found the objects such as clay pottery and a number of animal bones buried of its day.

A year later, the Archaeological Institute of Denpasar conducted a research and found a grave site that still contained human bones. At this site, the team found again some grave provisions in the form of beads. The study then continued in 2013 and 2014 in collaboration with the Australian University. The research began in 2014 precisely on March 13 and the team completed its work on March 26, 2014.
