Importantly, if electronic documents are to be exchanged during discovery, e.law assists by applying the requirements of existing court practice notes and whether they are sufficient to deal with electronically sourced documents. All of our processes are compliant with relevant court practice notes, in particular, the recent Practice Note CM6 – Electronic Technology in litigation. e.law’s methodologies are based on ensuring that the ‘Electronic Discovery Reference Model’ is followed strictly and thereby ensuring that the evidentiary chain of custody is kept intact. All of our processes are audited and documented. At e.law we use ‘Near Duplication Detection Technology’ (NDD) to detect files with the same content but which are in different formats, for example, MS Word and PDF versions of the same document. Also files with the same content but which have different formatting can be identified using NDD. Near de-duplication creates order from chaos by grouping documents with similar content together and highlighting this to the user. This means faster review and thereby greater time and cost savings. e.discovery

The purpose of e.discovery is to ensure, in the interest of justice, that information relevant to a lawsuit or investigation is not lost or overlooked simply because it is in electronic format. e.discovery tools, such as forensics and document review platforms, enable us to do this systematically.

e.law can assist you in dealing with many of the issues that need to be addressed when faced with having to discover what can be hundreds of thousands or even millions of electronic documents.

Why utilise technology in a discovery or litigation matter? The answer lies in the time savings that can be realised if large volumes of documents are to be sorted, catalogued, indexed, analysed and ultimately presented to the hearing.

We cover the following areas of e.discovery:processing, review, analysis, production and consulting. We have vast experience in working with legal teams during discovery and work with you to provide solutions.
