EDI Award in Personal and Social Development (QCF) Level 1This qualifi cation is designed for learners to gain skills in a range of personal and social skill areas.

Young people and adults will have the opportunity to learn skills to prepare them for life, employment and a positive role in the community.

Who would benefi t from this award?This award would be great for anyone looking to gain more confi dence in personal and social skills areas and learn skills to help them get ready for life and employment.

What do the qualifi cations cover?The course covers areas such as: developing own skills and setting goals, social skills; such as managing relationships and working with others, knowledge for living in the wider community; such as rights and responsibilities and community action and life skills; such as healthy living, budgeting and preparing for work.

How is it assessed?Delivery and assessment of the qualifi cations is as practical and relevant to the learner as possible, including opportunities for visits, guest speakers and role play.To achieve a full Level 1 Award in Personal and Social Development, learners must obtain a minimum of four credits. Three of the credits must be achieved at the level of the award. All units are Optional. Units with the same title can only be counted once.

What about progression?EDI Award in Personal and Social Development Level 1 (QCF) is part of Foundation Learning and as such can be taken alongside other awards to ultimately lead to the participant gaining all the skills needed to secure employment if that is their long-term aim. They can also progress onto level 2 and then level 3 of this course.
