The edge weld connector joins surface bodies together
The edge weld connector extracts load and stress information from the simulation results. The connector uses the information to calculate appropriate weld sizes .

The weld calculations uses the throat shear method.
This is based on forces rather than stresses to size the weld.
Currently the edge weld sizes follow the guidelines set forth by the American Welding Society Section D1.1. 5.
The edge weld connector works best for perpendicular weld junctions.
