The IP DSLAM uses the domain file server as a remote storage device.The IP DSLAM will dynamically save data concerning ongoing CPEsessions.

SELT uses advanced frequency and time domainanalysis to estimate both the length of the local loop andpossible ADSL service that can be carried through thelocal loop

SELT can only be performed with no CPE modemconnected.

Loop diagnostics is an ADSL2 feature, (ITU G.992.3),that uses both the IP DSLAM and the customer premisesequipment (CPE) to estimate the line quality.

Loop diagnostics requires a CPE modem to beconnected that supports loop diagnostics.
