BoM 6 Gen Conf- Printing the BoM- Alma As HP intro 171005 SQ

Dear Class,

I am very sorry to be late in getting word out to you about class this Thursday. We will discuss and enjoy several things:

1. Come with your thoughts to share about General Conference and the Book of Mormon. Every conference for the past ten years, we have taken special note of the ways in which the Book of Mormon has been used, mentioned, encouraged, and emphasized. This conference certainly gives us much to share and think about. I look forward to your observations and feelings in this regard.

2. Next, I want to answer a few remaining questions left over from last week's Q&A, some of which tie in with points that stand out from last weekend's General Conference.

3. Then, we will spend about 15 minutes thinking about the publication of the Book of Mormon. Loren Martin will share with us some very interesting and inspiring things that he knows about that amazing feat.

4. And finally, I will introduce the approach we will be taking in the coming weeks as we study the speeches of Alma through the lens of his role as the High Priest of the temple in Zarahemla and of the Church in the land of Zarahemla. As a prelude to that discussion, you might want to take a look at the chapter "The Temple in the Book of Mormon: The Temples at the Cities of Nephi, Zarahemla, and Bountiful," which you can find here on the web: https://publications.mi.byu.edu/fullscreen/?pub=2246&index=14, which you can read there either as a pdf of the original book pages or in a straight html text format.

See you on Thursday evening.
