Genesis Friedrich Ebert Stiftung started Economy of Tomorrow project in 2010.
It is looking for new options for the Economic Development Model.
3 Key Questions
1- What would an economic development model need to look like to serve as a compass for overcoming the economic, ecological and social crises?
2- Which discourse could help to level the political playing field for progressive policies?
3- On which platform could reform-oriented actors join forces in a broad rainbow coalition for the political struggles over the new development paths?
New Economic Development Model
It must be open, interlinked and dynamic for effective utilization of human, knowledge, capital and natural resources of different regions of the world.
Specialization, innovations and green growth with minimum government interventions are key policies in new economic development model.
Prevailing political systems do not need to be altered. US Dollar must be used for international payments.
Best DiscourseParticipatory communication is the path. Public relations and advertising agencies like Edelman, JWT and 72andsunny must be used by respective countries for development and advocacy of progressive policies.
Political governments have been hiring services of PR and ad agencies worldwide to avoid economic and social crises.
Best PlatformSolidar or Open Government Partnership must be used for new economic development model.
After revamping, UNDP can also be used as platform. People in Europe and Asia have been fed up with the World Bank and IMF.
