Introduction (5 mins)

Review the meaning of consumer sovereignty and the factors influencing individual consumer choice, from previous lesson.

Internet research activity (30 mins)

Students work through the worksheet on MS word document, using Weblinks to access information; completing answers on the document.

Editing (15 mins)

Students email their answers to classmates (or share in some other way), who use the ‘track changes’ and ‘new comments’ functions to suggest changes. Students then edit their answers to produce a final copy.

Blog Activity (20 mins) Students contribute to a blog, responding to the

statement “consumers have free choice in Australia, and there is no need for governments to intervene.”

Conclusion (5 mins)

Class brainstorms summary of opinions/arguments relating to consumer choice and consumer sovereignty.
