P.A.C. PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE

As the warmer weather approaches, I start thinking about flowers for my garden and look forward to our Plant fundraiser coming soon! Please watch your child's bag for more information. We will also need volunteers to help sort and hand out orders so if you have time, please consider spending some time at the school helping us out! Volunteer information and times will be sent out with the fundraiser information sheets.

As some of you may have seen we have a new fish tank! The previous one was 25 years old and was no longer cleaning properly and was not a healthy environment for our fish. Thanks to your fundraising efforts, PAC was able to purchase a new and much improved fish tank that will be so much better for our fish!

I also would like to say a HUGE thank you to my volunteers who helped make 600+ pancakes during Festival du Voyager week: Chris, Paula, Kathy, Tracy, Moira and Chantal.

Without you fantastic people I would not have been able to make all those pancakes in time for lunch and for goûter! Merci Beaucoup

We just finished up 2 amazing fundraisers of Kid City passes and Kernels popcorn. I am so excited to see how well we did with these! Thank you to our fundraising team for their hard work and for providing us with some really great fundraisers.

Our next PAC meeting is March 19 at 6:30 p.m. in the library. I invite you to come out and say hello and spend an hour with us. Babysitting is provided so please feel free to bring your little ones with you! You can call the school and leave me a message to let me know you are bringing your kids. Please save April 16th as it is our Annual General Meeting.

Enjoy the beautiful weather and if you have any questions or concerns please feel free to call the school at 204-958-6832 and leave me a message.

Sherri

PAC President

Parents….we ask that you don’t accompany your child to their classroom

unless the teacher has advised the office that they are expecting you. We encourage students to be independent. By now students know where there classrooms are and are able to navigate the school easily. If your child has to leave early, the least amount of interruption in the classroom makes it easier for the teacher and students. Thank you for your understanding.

The schools answering machine is on 24 hours a day. You can call at anytime of the day or night to leave a message regarding an absence.

Letting the teacher know that a student will be away is good, but calling the absence into the school office also helps. Teachers can be away as well and may not get the email, or the information may not make it down to the office.

If the office does not hear from the family of a missing student the office will call you to make sure the student is safe.

Working together to keep students safe.

If someone from the school calls you, the office or a teacher, the schools number will show up on caller display.

Who ever calls will leave a message letting you know who is calling and why.

Please listen to your voice mail message before calling back so you will know who to ask for. Thank you.

It is always a good idea to have an extra pair of pants, shirt, socks and even a pair of underwear in your child’s school bag. Accident's happen on the school ground or during lunch. Tucking them into a small pocket of the school bag and letting your child know where they are is a great way to avoid any embarrassment.

PARENTS... THE OFFICE SHOULD BE YOUR FIRST CONTACT when contact information has changed, you have moved or there is any changes that you feel we need to know about.

You can stop in at the office, call us at 204-958-6832 or send us a note.

NO STOPPING ZONE IN FRONT OF THE SCHOOL Please be aware of the NO STOPPING zone on the west side of Regina Place. This zone is between Parade Drive and the back lane (south of Parade Dr.).

Please remind anyone dropping off students of the NO STOPPING zone.

This is a NO STOPPING ZONE between the hours of 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday to Friday, September to June.

Lost and Found The lost and found can be found at the back doors of the school. If you are at the school please take a few minutes to TAKE A LOOK through all the stuff for something that may belong to your child.

If your child is missing something, remind them to TAKE A LOOK themselves. Putting your child's name inside clothing, hats, boots and runners is a easy and fast way to find them again when they get lost.

The school calendar is now available on our website.

Please visit the ÉMU website often for new items and to check dates as they can change.
