Eco Updates

We in Holy Cross are very proud to be an Eco school. Being an Eco school means caring for the whole world environment as well as the school environment. Inside the school is kept clean and tidy. When visitors arrive they see

plants and attractive displays. It is also clean and tidy outside … we

put litter in the bins and look after our school grounds.

P7 Litter Audit

• Earlier this year P7s carried out a litter survey in our playground. Guess what they found? (ask for ideas of types of litter found)

……..lots of litter not in the bins, but lying all around our school grounds. The Eco committee discussed ways of reducing litter in

our playground and came up with these ideas..

• Eat healthy snacks such as fruit – encourage all children to take part in Tasty Tuesday, Watery Wednesday and Fruity Friday. By

doing this we found less sweetie wrappers and crisp bags!

Litter Keep our school grounds tidy

We have more litter picks. All classes take turns to pick up litter at break times, so remember to

check the litter rota to see when your class are responsible for picking up litter. Together we will

keep our playground clean and beautiful.

Our Eco Litter Police check to see that litter is being put in bins and that litter pickers are keeping to

the litter rota.
