Airborne Radiological Sampling Summary
Dear Mr. Reams,
Thank you for contracting Ameriphysics, LLC to provide environmental sampling and analysisservices for the project referenced above. On February 28, 2016, a total of 15 air samples were
collected at several locations within Estill County School buildings, outside these buildings
and within selected areas of the adjacent Blue Ridge Landfill.
Air samples analyzed by Ameriphysics, LLC demonstrate the samples contain naturally
occurring radionuclides at levels below allowable airborne concentrations listed in Title 10 ofthe Code of Federal Regulations Part 20 (10 CFR 20) Appendix B Table 2. These values are
used as indicated by 902 KAR 100:019 Section 11. Allowable airborne concentrations and air
sample results provided in Table 1 below are shown in microcuries per milliliter (µCi/ml).
Attachment 1 provides the Air Sample Log and the individual Air Sample Analysis Sheets for
samples identified in Table 1. Attachment 2 provides the air sampler and counting instrument
certification of calibration traceable to the National Institute of Standards and Technology.
