Autumn 2010

• We decided that we needed a new ‘Eco Code’ to help us remember all the things we need to do. Last year the Eco club designed a new logo so it was our job to make an Eco Code to help us remember that ‘small steps make big differences’

Autumn 2010

• We took part in an ‘Environmental Review’ this looked at all the different parts of being an Eco School. We went around the school to find out what was happening and what action could help to make our school better. Mrs Richards typed up what we found out and we put it on the website for everyone to see. We used what we found out and what we knew already about Eco to help us set our action targets for this year.

Spring 2011

• We started our new term with an ‘Eco Matters’ Day to help everyone know about what is important for us to be an Eco School. Each class worked on a different topic for the day and made a poster to help us remember the important things we have to do. The winning poster from each class went on the board in the main entrance for us all to see.

• We decided which posters were the winners from the classes

• We told the teachers what we wanted to say in our ‘Eco’ assembly

Spring 2011Minutes from Wednesday 12th January• We decided who won from each class• We talked about what each class learnt on Eco Day• In our meeting we have decided different people are going to have our

monitoring jobs• We welcome Alicia and Emily from Year 2 as they wanted to join Eco

and we are glad because they have lots of ideas!• We decided that our Energy monitoring would be done by a class and

we would change every half term- this half term Mrs Ward’s Year 6 class are going to help and make a graph with the readings

• We had lots of people who said they wanted to help to take the fruit bins out so we are going to work together and make sure the fruit bins are out everyday- Lauren, Jack, Alicia, Emily, Iestyn, Lucy, Charlotte and Bradley.

• We want to look at the germs scanner that Mrs Ward looked at. Mrs Richards said we could learn how to use it in an Eco meeting.

• We thought of some more ideas to help rubbish, we still want to have the recycling bins on the yard and in the staff room. We would also like litter pickers for the yard.

• We told Mrs Richards and Mr Brown what we wanted to tell the other children in assembly, Mrs Richards helped us to write it down and we all practised.
