eClass App Mobile

Phone Interface

Introduction

1. Login Open a browser and enter school’s intranet website Enter your login ID and password

This user guide is especially for teachers who take charge of eClass

App at schools. It provides eClass App’s basic application on

management level in eClass intranet, which mainly focuses on

practicing the relationship between eClass platform and eClass App.

2. Settings2.1 Right Setting (By eClass Administrator)

Before using eClass App functions, the following rights are required to set:

Enter School Settings > Role.

Click to add the group for adding different modules’ administrators, e.g.: eClass App

Admin.

After adding the group, click it to add relevant members.

After adding members, click Module Administration to select to add relevant module rights.

e.g.:

1. If eClass App needs to be administered, select eClass App Admin.

2. If instant messages are required to send, select Parent Notification (eClass App) Admin.

3. If the right of the school calendar is needed, select School Calendar.

4. If the right of eNotice is needed, select eNotice Admin.

5. If the right of eHomework is needed, select eHomework Admin.

6. If the right of Announcement is needed, select School News Admin.

The following modules are bought exclusively.

7. If the right of ePayment is required, select ePayment Admin.

8. If the right of Student Attendance is required, select Student Attendance Admin.

After selection, click Save.

2.2 Applicable Function Setting

School can set up what functions parents can view and use in eClass app (Settings at eClass App).

Enter eAdmin > General Management > eClass App.

Enter Function Access Right under Parent App, click Edit.

Specify the functions by Edit.

2.3 School Badge and Background Picture Setting

Enter eClass App > School Image.

Click Edit to upload picture. Then, click Submit.

2.4 Login Status Enter Parent App > Login Status > Logged in user.

Press Export / Print to obtain login users' list.

Enter Parent App > Login Status > Not logged in user.

Press Export / Print to obtain non-login users' list.

2.5 BlacklistProhibit parent users from using eClass App.

Enter Parent App > Blacklist > New.

Select parents > Add.

Restricted-users are not able to login eClass App.

2.6 Advanced SettingA) Push Message Right

The right allows teachers to receive push messages while log-out.

Enter Parent App > Advanced Setting > Push Message Right > Edit > Submit.

Assign Administrator roles to Class Teacher and Club Admin at Class and eEnrolment (add-on

module) respectively.

Class Teacher Club Admin

(1) Enter School Settings > Class >

Import > Import Class Teacher.

(2 )Enter School Settnigs > Class > Title >

Edit This Class > Class Teacher > Select

Teacher > Submit.

Enter eAdmin > Student Management >

eEnrolment > Club Name >

Person-in-Charge > Select > Select

user(s) > Add > Save.

Enter Parent App > Advanced Setting > eAttendance > Edit > Submit.

3. Information delivery and its procedures3.1 Push Notification

Through receiving push notification, parents can know schools’ urgent information. Administratorsplease follow the steps below to publish eClass App Push Notification.

A) Push Notification Administration

Enter eAdmin > General Management > Message Center > Push Notification (Apps) > To

Parent > New.

Send Message with the Same Content

Choose Same in Push Message(s), and enter Title and Message Content. Then, choose Target

Teachers (All teachers or Specific teachers). Click Submit.

Select Recipient(s)

Enter Title

and Content

Select "Same"

Set Send Time

Send Messages with Different Content

Click different messages for different recipients (using CSV import) for different content.

Click to download the sample file and enter the required information. Click Save and then

Submit.

Sent successfully will be shown after you send the message. Click the message title to check the

status of the message.

B) View Push Message on mobile phone

Parents will receive push notification after schools send out push message. As the same time, parents

can login Parent App to read previous messages.

3.2 School News

Through publishing school news, teachers can be updated on schools’ latest announcement.

A) School News Management

Method (1) : Publishing School News at the eClass platform.

Enter eAdmin > General Management > School News > New.

Add a School News.

Select Start

Date and End

Date. Enter

Title and

Description.

Check Send eClass App Push Message

to users for push notification.

Check Public Announcement for School News.

Press Submit when finish.

B) View School News on mobile phone

Parents can view School News at the eClass App.

Select School News You can read all the School

News.

Click any individual School

News in detail.

3.3 eNotice

eNotice is a channel which allows schools and parents communicate more effectively. Parents can

sign online school notice and check previous notice records.

A) eNotice Administration

Enter eAdmin > Student Management > eNotice > Parent-signed Notice.

Press New.

Add a new eNotice.

Load form template if

necessary. Enter Notice

Number, Notice Title,

Issue Date, Deadline and

Notice Content.

Insert attachment if necessary.

Press Edit to edit reply slip (See p. 18).

Check Notify parents using

eClass App push message for

push notification.

Press Submit when finish.

Select Audience.

Edit reply slip.

Click to move the order; click to delete; click to amend topic/ title.

1. Enter Topic / Title.

2. Select Format and Options

(Applicable for Multiple Choices).

3. Press Add.

4. Enter answers for True or False

and Multiple Choices questions.

5. Press Save when finish.

B) View eNotice on mobile phone

When schools send eNotice, parents can also enter eClass App to check the school notice record.

Choose eNotice. Parents can go to eNotice to check notices that

have been sent by schools.

Parents can check notice content. Sign the notice.

3.4 School Calendar

Electronic school calendar allows schools to add school events, holidays, group events and academic

events.

A) School Calendar Management

Enter School Settings > School Calendar.

Method (1): Click Import Holidays/ Events

Method (2): Click specific date to add holiday or event.

B) View School Calendar on mobile phone

Parents can check school events, holidays, group events and academic events at the eClass App.

Choose School Calendar Parents can view school events and

holidays.

3.5 eHomework

eHomework can allow teachers to upload daily homework to the intranet and eClass App, so parents

can check students' homework easily.

A) eHomework Management

Enter eAdmin > Student Management > eHomework.

Enter Management > Homework List > To-do-list.

Press New to add homework records.

Select Class and Subject, Subject Group. Enter Topic, Start Date and Due Date.

Then press Submit.

B) View eHomework on mobile phone

Parents can use eClass App to check students' homework record.

Push message for overdue homework

Schools can send push message to inform parents about overdue homework.

Enter eAdmin > Student Management > eHomework > Management > Homework List >

To-do-list or History > Hand in Required.

Select student(s) > Expired Without Submission > Submit.

Enter Reports > Hand-in Status Report > Target and Hand-in Status > Submit.

Choose eClass App push message > Send Push Message to Parents.

3.6 eAttendance(Student) [Add-on module]

The system bases on the card information on smartcards to record students attendance status.

eAttendance can show students’ arrival or leaving time.

A) eAttendance Administration

Enter eAdmin > Student Management > eAttendance.

After students tap their cards at school, eAttendance records their school card-tapping time.

Parents can also check the time at eAttendance module on eClass App.

Daily Operation > View Individual Class Status: Module Administrator can check each

class’s attendance status.

Daily Operation > View Individual Class Status > View Early Leave Student List or View

Absence Student List or View Late Student List > Select student > eClass App push

message.

Press Send.

Please refer to eAttendance(Student) user guide for daily management.

B) View eAttendance(Student) on mobile phone

When students tap their cards at schools, parents can view their card-tapping time by going to eClass

App to tap eAttendance.

Choose eAttendance. eAttendance shows students' card-tapping

time.

Parents can also check students'

eAttendance record.

3.7 Leave Application [Add-on module]

Parents can apply leaves for students' mobile phone, and school staff can approve the leave

application.

A) Leave Application on mobile phone

Choose Apply Leave. Add Apply Leave record.

Select the date of leave. Enter reason

and upload supporting documents (if any).

Press Submit.

Push Message at the eClass App.

B) Leave Application Administration

Enter Apply Leave (App).

Select student > Acknowledge > Submit.

C) View Approved Leave Application on mobile phone

Once the leave application is approved, a push

message is sent to parents.

3.8 ePayment [Add-on module]

Smartcard’s payment information shows students' add-value and payment record.

A) ePayment Administration

Enter eAdmin > General Management > ePayment.

Data Log Browsing > View Users’ Balance and Transaction Record > Click the users' names

to check their detailed payment record.

Please refer ePayment user-guide for daily management.

Select to view individual’s records

B) View ePayment on mobile phone

Parents can view students' add-value and payment record.

Choose ePayment. Parents can check the latest balance and unpaid

item.

View all deposits and payment records.

4. Others: How to install eClass AppFor Android OS mobile phone users, please follow the steps below to install eClass App:

Go to Play Store or App Store.

Search eClass.

Install eClass App

Open eClass App and enter School Name, Login Name and Password. Tap Add.

Starting from February 2015, new features of eClass A pp and eClass Teacher A pp are only

available for iO S 7 or above.
