As the holidays are approaching fast and the year is coming to an end, take time to reflect on all the good that has happened this past year. We've made many new improvements within our lodge, had a few successful new events, and best of all we are well on track to have another positive gain of membership this year. It’s quite nice to see new members getting involved and asking how and where they can help. This is personally my favorite time of the year at the Elks with The Turkey Trot, OSU Michigan game and my favorite event of the year The Members Tom and Jerry Party. If you haven’t been to any of these, I would encourage you to check your calendars and stop in. I don’t really like to thank individual people in these letters for the work they have done because if I did that we wouldn’t have much room in the Echo for anything else. But in this case, but I think it’s necessary. Phil and Alicia Romano, thank you for all your hard work last month. You guys went truly above and beyond. For Veterans Day this year the Elyria lodge served the Valor Home breakfast for close to 40 vets. If you’re not familiar with the Valor Home, the Valor Home “Lorain” provides transitional housing to homeless veterans in Lorain County. It’s a great organization that I, as a citation of the community and as an Elk, am proud to help with. Finally, If I don’t see you before the end of the year I would like to wish all of you and your families a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
