Fists of FuryOne unusual feature is the ritual which begins the game.We all stood in a circle and the facilitator closed his eyesand dropped a ball on someone's shoe and that personwas IT right then and there. IT could throw the soft ball(nerf or the like) directly at any one at any time If the

 person was hit on any part of the body except the fists,that person was automatically then part of IT's team. TheIT folks could of course pick up the ball with bare handsand then run with the ball or toss to each other in order

to position to get more IT’s. Another unusual feature of the game was the way in which the ball could be legally carried by non-IT’s between ones fisted hands and also"batted" around to any part of the field with a fisted hand. Non-ITs sometimes displayed excellent form inkeeping the ball away for the IT’s by batting it to eachother quite deftly. Touching the ball with an open hand 

 put you on IT side. Game continues until the second to

last person was hit. The very last non-IT person survivingwas the winner.

Egg Drop

Give each team 6ft of masking tape, 1 balloon, a handfulof straws, and 1 raw egg. They have to build a "capsule"out of those materials that will protect the egg whendropped from various heights off a tall ladder.

When I was in junior high, the guys in our youth groupwent on a backpacking trip in California's Sierra Nevadamountains. Like a lot of junior high guys, we weren't very graceful, especially when we trudged around wearing 30-pound backpacks. While hiking with our backpacks on, we came to a stream with ice cold water.In order to cross the stream, we had to walk across afallen log.

For reasons known only to himself, my friend Tony decided to walk backward across the log. And-surprise,surprise-he fell in. The rest of us scrambled into actionas Tony was carried downstream by the current.Eventually we managed to fish him out and get him back to camp. But by that time, the damage had 

been done.

No matter what he did, Tony couldn't get warm. Therest of us realized that hypothermia was quickly setting

in. Hypothermia is a dangerous condition. A personalone in the woods can die from it. Fortunately for Tony,our youth pastor was an Eagle Scout, and he knew what to do. He had Tony take off his wet clothes and climbinto a warm sleeping bag. Then he looked at the rest of us and said, "I need one of you to strip down and get inthe sleeping bag with Tony."

  At first we thought he was joking. But after anawkward silence, we realized he was serious. Tony needed to borrow someone else's body heat. AsSolomon might have put it, he needed someone to liedown with him to keep him warm. And guess what? It worked.
