How is Sustainability Defined?
The two most widely accepted definitions of sustainability are:
‘An enduring and balanced approach to economic activity, environmental responsibility and social awareness’ (Definition from BS8901 (ISO 20121)
‘Meeting the needs of the present generation without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their needs’(Brundtland Commission -formerly ‘the World Commission on Environment and Development’)
