Bauer Media is a division of the Bauer Media Group, Europe’s largest privately owned publishing Group. The Group is a worldwide media empire offering over 300 magazines in 15 countries, as well as online, TV and radio stations. Bauer are famous for the distribution of Q and Kerrang magazines which have a fairly similar target audience to my own(young adults) although the genre is different. Bauer circulate over 38million magazines a week which is an advantage towards publishing my magazine. It is more likely that the would publish my magazine because they do not distribute one of the same genre which makes it a better idea to approach this company than another which already sells magazines, like XXL, which are of the same genre.

Time Inc.

Time Inc. UK (formerly International Publishing Corporation and IPC Media), a wholly owned subsidiary of Time Inc., is a consumer magazine and digital publisher in the United Kingdom, with a large portfolio selling over 350 million copies each year. Time Inc. sell other successful music magazines with the same target audience like NME which makes them likely to sell mine also; again they don’t have a magazine to match my genre. The success rate could boost if the company distribute my magazine because their knowledge would be able to make my magazine well known. Also there is a chance of consumers buying my magazine just upon the success of the company. Time Inc. also own channels such as Cartoon Network and MTV which is aimed at a teenage audience, this could benefit because they could advertise my magazine on these channels.

Harris Publications

Having researched into XXL, knowing that Harris Publications distribute XXL, it would be ideal if the company distribute mine also. Id be at an advantage having this company distribute my magazine because they have produced 10 other magazine that are similar to mine in genre and they are under control of my production. This company would have vast knowledge on the genre of my magazine so they know so wit can be effectively marketed to my target audience which would create the greatest possible success. Harris Publications are one the of largest distributing music magazine companies in the USA selling over 285,000 copies of their magazines every month. With the company being based in the US means that it can be more widely produced and my audience could be much wider spread rather than just in the UK. The capability to fund magazines is a reason why they would be capable and willing to distribute my magazine.
